Has anyone been able to create a job or situation where they've been able to incorporate traveling 30% to 100% of the time into their "life" or "job"? Just asking, as I'm interested in a radical overhaul (I've quit my job before and gone to Europe, etc.) so I can end up in a job/career - or just a living situation, like consulting/freelance, etc. - that gives one the freedom to travel. Top on my list of places to visit are Russia, Chile, and anywhere in Africa.

Serendip - in a previous thread you mentioned your ability to do lots of travel, for big chunks during the year. Are you working in the US or in Europe (I'm thinking of moving to Europe where the vacations are very long)?

That is very cool that you quit your job and traveled the world. Did you have any problems finding a job when you got back, or maybe because of your skills/talent/field/industry/connections you were fine?

When you were working your way to partner status were you able to take long vacations as well? or has that come about since you've become a partner?

I'd be interested in this as well, though perhaps not traveling as much as having the option of living abroad. I've always wanted to spend signifcant amounts of time in the UK, Russia, and China, though the last may be difficult as I don't speak the language.

I am hopefully just going to drop off the face of the earth when I finish Uni and go travelling :) Main places I want to go are North and South America

I travelled around Europe for one summer and had the best time of my life (doing it again this summer) and hopefully my career path will provide me with lots of opportunities to travel and work abroad.:)
