sunshine41 Posted December 20, 2007 Share Posted December 20, 2007 We met 7 years ago. Either of us were married yet. I felt an instant connection not sure if he could say the same. Initially it was an attraction that in time turned into an emotional bond. It is a long distance relationship, I only get to see him 2-3 times a month in social settings with friends. We have helped each other through some pretty difficult times in our lives. I grew to love him more and more and I didn't even know or understand why. I decided to one day confess my love for him in fear that he would never know how much he truly meant to me if it ever came time to part ways. Not even knowing what kind of love it was? He never said he loved me back and never said he didn't. He introduced the idea of sleeping together several times only to run away and hide after doing so. He could never tell me how he felt.... he just told me that I was a "special soul." I decided that it was best to end our friendship secondary to his inability to express his feelings and thoughts on the situation and the fact that it was becoming inappropriate and we are both married. I am completely devistated and his response to "we can no longer be friends" was the song written below. He said that "it says it all." I am struggling to interpret it's meaning and it is the closest I have come to ever knowing how he truly felt. Can anyone help me to understand the message behind it? Needless to say everytime we attempt to say goodbye it's never for good but this time I fear it is, he will not talk to me.
