Kenyth
Does anyone else get unreasonable anxiety on occasion regarding leaving their young child somewhere you know is completely safe? Kind of like seperation anxiety from the parental side of things. An unreasonable fear that something will happen and you won't be there to protect them or save them? Is this normal? It seems to abate slowly as time goes on. I ws wondering if it's a sort of instinctual thing with babies and parents.

Author Kenyth
He is. This is an unresonable fear I'm talking about. We use very reputable day care, and there is no reason to think anything is wrong.
Green
well if you think your doing your best, yet your still anxious... maybe your just an anxiouse person, and maybe meditation, religion, or pyschological help could be the answer to harmony in your life so you can enjoy what you have and stop living in a state of fear
whichwayisup
You can't control the outside world, and you have to trust that your child/teen has been brought up well so they have the confidence and smarts to make good choices in life. How old is your child?
whichwayisup
Okay, I re-read your post again, so your child is young... I would check referenecs, and just make sure if it's a daycare, it's well recommended and well known. I understand the anxiety of leaving your child in the hands of someone else, and trust IS a big issue. I guess base it on HOW your child is mood wise after the daycare, or if it's a babysitter. Can your child talk yet? If so, ask him/her about the experience. Maybe that will help lessen your anxieties.
Author Kenyth
He's two. Honestly guys, the care facility is great. I know the teachers and trust them. There's security camera's everywhere and a keypad entry system. It's a school structured learning environment. He comes home happy and learns a lot there. I know the anxiety is unreasonable, and it passes with a bit of effort. I was just wondering if everyone experiences something like this or if I'm just a bit high strung about it? I'm not so much looking for a cure as I am a little discussion on how others feel.
Sweetcheripie
I think it is normal sometimes. Moms and Dads of toddlers are filled with guilt and it can manifest in some weird ways. Sounds like it is an excellent daycare facility. So just remind yourself of that. Remind yourself that we can only do so much and protect them the best way we know how. If it is an overwhelming anxiety then you might want to look into it a little more but I think that all of us parents went through a little sadness when we had to leave our kiddos. I remember when my two year old would "fling" himself on the floor when I would leave and I would drive myself to work crying my eyes out because I was such a bad mom for leaving him. Then when he got a little older and didn't even look to blow me a kiss goodbye, I drove myself to work and cried my eyes out because my baby was growing up and didn't need me as much anymore!
