Lostguy33 Posted January 16, 2008 Share Posted January 16, 2008 Well, I'm 17 and my single mother and I have a love-hate relationship. I totally despise her at least 50% of the time because she tries to control almost all of my life and I tell her not to. The other 50% of the time or so things are just fine when she lets me do my own thing and handle my school work. I've tried to tell her to stop trying to control me to such an extent, she never listens and just goes on a yelling rampage and makes Everestt mountains out of mole hills, usually she ends the 1-sided yellfest with "F*** you". And then ends up apologizing the next day after she goes into her crazy mode. I don't know if I can handle it anymore, it happened w/ my brother for 2 years and it's been happening with me for one thus far. Help please! Link to post Share on other sites
sally4sara Posted January 16, 2008 Share Posted January 16, 2008 It sounds like she is going to miss your companionship and doesn't know how to deal with it very well. I think this because you say she did this as your other brother was coming of age. She is scared of the silence of an empty house? Short of encouraging her into a new hobby/interest, just understand that you're her baby and she just isn't handling the idea of you growing up and then moving out very well.
