Heath Ledger is Dead

Seeing as though money is the major stressor in my life- I've always thought that having an infinite cash supply would keep me happy as stress free for the rest of my life.

Just goes to show you that fame and fortune doesn't equal happiness.

Too bad.

He was looking more 40ish than 28 near the end.... must have been on the drug train for a while.

Heath Ledger!

He had a terrible time going to sleep for quite some time. That's why there were two sleeping medications there. It wouldn't surprise me if he had a heart attack or something. I'm hoping they don't smear his memory with bad press.

You know they will. I already heard about it today. Instead of celebrating the Dark Knight as his final masterpiece, it will be overshadowed with his death and the circumstances surrounding it.

Yes,

It will be like that movie The Crow with Brandon Lee.

They will probably make a movie about the life and death of Heath due out next summer.

Feeding frenzy.

I guess there are perks to not being rich and famous.

Our fabulous media at work!

It only works if the public laps it up. Don't assume anything until the full details are revealed, and not by "a friend of the family" or whatever. Who are we to assume he had a drug problem or whatever?

They seem to forget that he was a real person, with a real family who are mourning at this time. Hence why I was so disturbed to see the media over here showing his body being removed from the apartment. Imagine his family seeing that  Can't even let the poor man die in dignity.

 Oh please.

Please? You think OD'ing on pills is dying with dignity? Is throwing yourself off a cliff dying with dignity too?

I'm just amazed that you know all of this, seeing as the initial autopsy was inconclusive. Very talented you must be.

The initial reports say that he was surrounded by pills of all types. Not a matter of talent (though I am;)) Just listening to the reports.

Not only that but did you see the interview he did only two months ago talking about death? What 28 year old says that he'd be ok with death now in a way since he has a child to carry on his legacy. Those weren't his exact words but that was the essence. It was an extremely strange thing to say.

He was obviously suicidal. So if you call "talent" putting those facts together, then yeah, I'm very talented.

Six different types of prescription drugs were found in Heath Ledger's apartment -- including anti-anxiety medications and sleeping pills.

Anyway, the point really is that he was a celebrity and rightly or wrongly, pictures will be taken of him - in death, just as in life.

I believe Coco was simply offended at the obvious willing leap taken to focus on the most negative aspect of this tragic event.

The fact is that Ledger had been struggling with insomnia for years. You'd know that if you had seen more than one or two interviews. The prescriptions were legal and legitimate. I have the same prescriptions myself. Big deal.

He had been an actor since the age of ten, so his seemingly short life encompassed a career of 18 years. He can probably thank his parents a little for that. Parents seem to push their children way too hard in that endeavor for some strange reason.

Child actors are the victims of the adults who manage them, and when they are old enough to get away from those adults, they are lacking the coping skills they need. They wear themselves out. They think go,go,go is what they're supposed to be doing.

When someone has died, and there are people present who liked them, it may seem the obvious course of action to slam the dead mans memory based on the surroundings, and leap in on the conversation, at a time when others are sharing compassion with one another, and jump to the worst possible conclusion, and vocalize it, but a bigger, more compassionate man, or woman, would overlook those negative triggers and say, "I'm sorry for your loss."

If you were talking to someone, in person, about the loss of another, that you liked! and a third party walked up and said, "Yea man, he was a drug addict and he committed suicide!"...... what would your feelings be? Would you feel defensive? Would you feel angry? Would you feel nothing? I'm sure you would feel something!

I'm not critisizing the right to say whatever a person wants, I did in fact enlist in the military to defend your right to freedom of speach, Vietnam to be specific, but...

If you walk up on a conversation and LISTEN to what's being said, and it's all negative, and you verify by asking, "I gather you didn't like him?" and the answer is, "No, none of us did!" Then chime in and say, "Yea, I think he sucked too!"

C'mon people, we are compassionate with one another here on this forum with our personal problems... so let's extend that just a little and be compassionate for the loss of someone we didn't personally know.

I appologize in advance if I have offended anyone. That was not my intent.

I'm just trying to get you to find a soft spot in your heart, and a little compassion for the family of this man.

AW
