Taking initiative but end results are bad luck...?

Recommended Posts

People say when you are lonely, find something new to keep yourself occupied. It seems that every time I try to do something different, I hit a dead end. This has been a stigma almost for me.

When I first hit college, the first thing I did was join clubs, but all the ones I joined were full of passive uninterested people. So much for that. The second thing I did was switch classes to different time slots such as night, weekends, and even take courses outside my school for a fresh change of people and environment. Most were just uninterested in the classes, didnt meet anyone that opened new friendships.

Anyhow thats past examples, but it continues to linger into the present. I recently taken up a new hobby like rock climbing, but two places I go to just gave me this sense of unwanted-ness. Ok, I'm a rookie, I want to learn but these guys seemed like elitist snobs who doesn't take me seriously. They are pros so I understand why it might be annoying to teach newbies, but that's what these clubs are for, isn't it?

I've always taken the initiative but somehow it's not working. Maybe I just run into all the bad clubs, not just good with luck perhaps.

Also, I've felt like I've grown tired of doing things alone. Even if it was something new. I want to share the fun and enjoyment with other people, whether a friend or someone special. Then you got all these bad luck happening, it's just totally discouraging... :/

I'm a firm believer that your attitude is everything sometimes.

Could it be that this "can't catch a break" attitude is following you around...preventing you from actually connecting with people?

Lonliness comes from your soul, what you do outside of you cannot resolve that. you can be busy and around bunch of people and still feel lonely. you have to do something with your soul

Well, I used to be perfectly fine doing things alone and not feel lonely at all. I don't know when this really started, maybe I got tired of being alone, or maybe because I'm getting older and everyone else is getting settled, I have no idea really.

OR maybe you are growing to a point that you need more for your soul, which is a good thing, and a sign you need to consider more serious issues about life, if you don't get hungry, you won't take any new food. a sign of new beginning

Long before I felt like I was runing circles, never progress in life, similar things like deja vu happen again and again, and God helped me jump out the circles

I've read a book LIFT UP YOUR HEART by Fulton. J. Sheen, very inspiring, if you have time, it is good to our souls and heart :)
