Baldy
Don't know if this is a vent, if I need answers or opinions...? Right, here goes... I have been seeing a women for about 2 months. She is always sending text messages to my mobile phone, and I mean about 10 times a day normally. This could start as early as 7am and go on till 2am the following morning. In the texts she say everything from 'miss you' or 'thinking about you' to 'I'm falling for you and want you with me' etc etc We live about 1 1/2 hours away form each other. We see each other on a Friday night until Monday morning when we go to work. Sometimes If I have to go home late Sunday night she tries everything to convince me stay. When we are together we can't keep our hands off each other. She is very touchy feely - always hugging me, holding hands, putting her arm around me etc. Everyone who sees us say we look like love struck teenagers, even though I'm in my late twenties and she is in her 30s. When we see each other or speak on the phone she tells me everything, her personal thoughts, ideas, dreams. We spoke on the phone just on Wednesday and she was telling me how she was falling for me, but didn't dare say the 'L' word yet. Just on Friday, even though I was seeing her later that day, she was texting me and even phoned me just to hear my voice. Friday night was great, we did all the normal lovey dovey stuff and made love later on. On Saturday though, she started acting weird. Not wanting to hold my hand, not hugging me or doing anything. In fact, she hardly said anything to me.... Then on Sunday she turns round and says it's over. She has never felt anything for me - It wasn't working out between us and when she saw me on Friday night when I got to hers she new it wasn't going to work.....WTF??? I'm sorry, but surely that is the sort of thing you would say before you get all lovey dovey with someone - When you are still seeing how the relationship is going to pan out? She asked me out originally and when I obviously said yes, she rang her family to tell them about me. I just don't understand??? Can anyone explain this? I was completely stunned into silence when she said this... How can she go from one extreme to the other? She is normally such a warm and gentle person but she was very cold, and basically said I don't want to talk about it, you won't change my mind so just go!
Carly
Sorry, but this does not sound like a very stable woman. I think we might even be talking, like, psychiatrically disordered. Anyone who is messaging someone as often as she was with you has problems with emotional and psychiatric stability. That behavior by itself should have been enough to scare you off, although it might have also felt good for you to receive those continual reminders of how much you were needed and wanted. By how you describe it, her sudden rejection of you is as bizarre and rirational as it gets. In my opinion, that speaks volumes for her state of mental health as well. Let's hope that your next catch is more stable than the last. Good luck.
NEONINK
Thank the stars and heavens that you only wasted 2 months with psycho! That's your luck working overtime for you. This could have happened after investing your heart, mind, money and time for years. You are doing something right! Move on.
Author Baldy
Cheers guys and gals! I new I was doing the right thing when this happened by not arguing to much and just getting the hell out! I must admit, I am still scratching my head over this, but know that if she has done this once, she WILL do it again... I am gutted over this but also know that if it was only a month later that she did this I would be a hell of allot worse! I have spoken to a number of friends about this and the answers I get ALL have a running theme... she's got real bad issues. A friend of mine is actually a long running Psychiatrist and she said that she could well be testing you due to past problems to see how you would react. Well if that was the case she got the wrong reaction. I told her I don't play mind games etc - I'm to old for that and just want a normal, happy relationship... not an emotionally retarded one Thanks, I needed to know I was doing the right thing!
