Probably best to ask a professional hairstylist. I doubt there's actually a miracle product that will "grow your hair 7 inches in 5 days" or anything like that...

You might just have to be patient - people's hair grows at different rates.

Go to a health food store and get a jar of Biotin, in tablet form. Take as directed. Biotin helps build healthy hair and fingernails and in many cases speeds the growth of hair.

But don't try to pull it. You can pull it out and make the process take much longer.

I've heard that cutting your hair more often makes it grow faster. Obviously not a big cut, but just trimming the split ends. I don't really know for sure though. Ask the stylist maybe?

Growing faster hair? How fast does your hair go now? Where does it go when its going fast? :) :) How fast do you want it to go? Where do you want it to go so fast? :D

Sorry Patty, I couldn't resist.

A healthy diet and exercise is the best thing you can do for the health of your hair, and the healthier it is, the better.

A lot has to do with simple genetics. Just like weight, hair (& fingernail) growth is unique to the person. My sister's hair grows very slowly. Mine used to grow very fast (2 - 6 inches a month) but when I passed 40 years old, my hair rate slowed down.

Same with my fingernails. I've always had thin, weak nails and very short nail beds and my nails grow slowly. I started getting acrylic on my nails and most people I know need to go back every other week for a "fill" or manicure. I can go once every six weeks and the growth looks the same as those who have to go every 2 weeks.

Don't over condition your hair - that can sometimes stunt the growth of new hair. At least that's why my doctor said once.

That's really interesting. I had no idea Biotin had that ability.

Nice post.

Dyeing your hair, or any other way of loading it with chemicals, will damage it, and make the growth slower.

Hello guys,

Hair and nail tip:

About 6 months ago, we bought a Juicer and started juicing vegetable juice everyday. I only have on average 1 glass a day, but ever since, my hair and my nails have been growing at an incredible rate!

My husband has to get a hair cut every 3 weeks now, as to before he could go much longer without one.

So, not only my hair grows at an amazing rate, the juice also promotes good health. A little more trouble than a capsule, but well worth it!

Enjoy!

Been told this by one of my friends. If you excersize and eat healthy things begin to grow faster. I know with myself my hair grows fast, but I think it is a sign of being healthy, which it could just mean that it grows fast. Anyways, if I were you, getting it trimmed would help it out and if you go to the gym and excersize it will help out too plus eat healthy foods. You of course can't have your hair grow fast in a snap so just possibly do those things and it will help somewhat with your hair growth. Good luck to you.

Is hair growth and nail growth related?

My nails grow lso fast I have to trim them down every week because I start to look ridiculous. (My nails are super strong and just grow, grow, grow. I'm the type that goes to get a manicure and the manicurist goes on and on about what great nails I have.)

But my hair does not grow fast at all! Makes me wonder if there is really a connection or not!

I don;t know what kind of person you are, or if your attached or not, but what makes nails and hair grow faster can be going to the gym or some everyday great sex. The gym is just a healthy thing that will help you out as far as making things grow, but sex. SEx if it is with one partner and a daily thing or every few times a week, garauntee your hair will grow. SEx is a healthy thing if you share it with the one you love and it is a great workout and it is great when it comes to things growing like hair and nails. Hope this helps. :D

Patty, the average person's hair grows about 1/2 inch a month. That's standard and it doesn't deviate much from that amount. I read that someone's hair grows 2-6 inches a month? That's hard to believe, but if it is true, very very rare.

despite all the hype, cutting your hair doesn't make it grow any faster. it just makes your hair look longer because it is healthier. as we all know hair grows from the roots not the ends.

i never really noticed a difference but some people said my hair grew faster went i used mane n' tail. it is a hair conditioning product used on horses and though it might be hard to find, some stores (some walmarts etc) do carry it.

i feel your pain i have never been able to grow my hair much farther than my sholders :(

it's all about eating healthy ppl...external things are good to protect your hair, ie., conditioner to protect from elements and fight off the effects of whatever substances you use to style it.

healthy eating is what can lend to healthy hair GROWTH compounded with your genetics.

About 1.5 years ago, my hair was down past my pecs then I buzzed it and took a razor to my scalp. A year later it's down past my neck. Eh, I have no problem cutting off all my hair cuz well it grows fast. Eat healthy!:)
