j_hunt_12
Is this a joke (If it is, please correct me I hate to be the kid taking something way too seriously.)? Since when did cheating become Ok? Yeah it might be fun and exciting... granted, but what if some psyco thinks killing someone is fun and really gets off on it, does that mean he should or write out a list about its benefits? I know cheating isn't murder, but you can hurt someone that you supposedly love. I don't know; maybe I just believe to much in responsibilty nowadays. This doesn't go for swinging or agreeing to let each other sleep around... I don't really find that bad. But doing it behind your SO's back is wrong. Please do everyone a favor and stay out of a serious relationship. Posts like this make me so happy to have a relationship like mine. peace
Author Lizzie60
So you agree that if the kids were to find out that it would just tear their world apart? So its ok for the Dad to be selfish about it and go do as he pleases and disregard the kids feelings? They could find out you know and then what? Pyro.. have you ever been married? Do you have children?
Pyro
Pyro.. have you ever been married? Do you have children? No, but I was a kid who was in the middle of my parents divorce. My mom cheated on my dad and we found out, but she tried to cover it up. Looking back I would have rather found out then instead of down the road sometime.

BetrayedMM
Go ahead, let lizzie speak, even if she tries to shut someone down. It's her thread. She has the soapbox now. This is all valuable information. Like Howard Dean, she is the gift that keeps on giving.

Phateless
Please help me find more good reasons: Mine: Having an affair means: (goes for men and women) . having great exciting sex (especially if you've been with the same person for ages) . sexercise (good for your body) . good for the self-esteem (always good to be told how sexy and attractive you are) . emotional connection on a different level than with your partner . getting spoiled with gifts and money (mostly women ) . could be handy (if you're single) to have someone fix your house or car . great friendship combined with great sex I found 7 for now... None of these reasons address the most basic question of why not leave the marriage. NONE of those reasons address having an affair INSTEAD of having a relationship with a normal single person. sam light
Having a woman cheat on a guy would totally enrage/devastate him. But when a guy cheats it's jut sex and his GF should take it in stride. The only time a woman should cheat is when it's with me:lmao:

KenzieAbsolutely
Well...there are still more male cheaters than female cheaters... because there are more needy, desperate women willing to take sloppy seconds, rather than be alone or learn to make smarter choices, convincing themselves that they wouldn't want it any other way. not being mean, just truthful. Woggle
In my experience, it is usually the other way around. Oh and by the way, a lot of marriages are not normal either. Good point by point responses OB. Any woman that believes a married man that cheats on his wife is Mr Right is very naive. This doen't apply to women like Lizzie who know exactly what the are doing but the OW on here who tear themselves up emotionally over a cheating dog.

I have been with my MM for over 18 years, after seeing him for 11 years, I would still be with him if I hadn't left him. How can we say that the first marriage is always with Mrs or Mr Right. We can make mistakes when we're young.. It is ridiculous to think that a 20-something guy or girl know, without a doubt, that the person they are marrying is the person they want to spend the rest of their life with... That never made sense to me.

That never made sense to me. I don't want to scare you, Lizzy. Please, brace yourself. I AGREE WITH YOU! Ok...calm down...it'll be ok! :D I believe that no one should enter marriage lightly, regardless of age. I feel that everyone owes themselves and their spouse the best effort they can possibly make to make their marriage work. But not every marriage can be saved. Not every marriage really is workable. By your comment, I'm sure you agree with me. Where we don't agree is how that marriage should end. I don't feel that cheating is ever justified...or justifiable. If you've done your best, but for whatever reasons your marriage is one of those that isn't going to work...end it...BEFORE you begin emotionally investing in someone else. Spare your spouse (who at this point might not be someone you're in love with, but is likely at LEAST your friend still) the agony and pain of that, if nothing else. Spare yourself the same thing. The guilt, the disappointment...etc... If your marriage is over...then end it. THEN give someone else a chance at your heart. My opinion...we will likely not agree on this...but I thought I'd share it.

And only the weakest of individuals would look at it this way. If someone wants to have an affair or get their rocks off, its real simple, marriage isn't for them. There is NO good reason to have an affair. If someone wants all these things, then they have no business being married. Marriage is not for the weak, the selfish, or the insecure. BetrayedMM
Very good point- the OP is not married. All of this is easy for her to say. She has nothing... to lose. Her only flaw is in her views on what she has... to give. And so, she misses out, the clock is ticking, and the options narrow. But, what about the married cheaters? Where is their list? I'm sure there must be at least 31 reasons for married folks to cheat, so let's have them. Not for the sake of condemning them, the answers, if honest, speak for themselves. j_hunt_12
OK cheating is bad, but if you mess up and do it anyways (then feel guilty and try to fix it) your not a bad person, just weak. BUT JUSTIFYING IT????? Here is what kind of people try to justify cheating: -A girl/guy that is too week to resist sex from others, and instead of denying she/he is wrong, she/he tries to find others that do it and say "everyone does it". Then start using some feminist or "it's a new age" type of **** to justify it. -A girl/guy that is treated badly by her husband/wife that, instead of leaving him/her like he/she should do, goes somewhere else for comfort and sex. These people are too stupid, too poor, or just too weak to leave a bad relationship and care nothing about themselves or others. (these are the best out of the 3) -A person that is so selfish that she/he stays in a relationship because of financial-security reasons and so they can have that "nice one" to go home to, but goes and finds passion and sex from someone else because they care nothing about the lives of others. All the girls in one of these categories are BITCHES; all the guys in one of these categories are *******S... They deserve the worst that comes to them. You are bad people... you can say whatever you want, but deep down you know you are. I'm not a religious fanatic or anything, but this is just logical morals you should have learned in kindergarden. that's all I'm going to say... now I'll stop judging others.... peace
