SpanksTheMonkey
I've just recently noticed that I have a habit it seams I over analyze every thing and I do mean every thing. Its hard to explain its like if I'm talking to the guy I live with we shall call him R for now lol.. The convo goes something like this.. R did you see the cat down the road before ME yea I did I wonder were its going and why it had a red collar on! Ok I know bad example but I do this for everything it seams I always want to know details that may not be relevant to the conversation. Is this normal? It seams to annoy some people is it something I should try to stop? Sounds weird but should I try to not think as much I dunno any advice appreciated Thanks
Blue Eyed Brain
My sister and I do the same thing.... It's hard to take when you first meet us because we dissect every instance or convo. However, I have learned to internalize so I only drive myself crazy...... Many women possess this trait. It also has a lot to do with wanted to please others, so we dissect every thing to make sure we don't screw up, when in reality, we have no control over other's feelings. Relax and go with the flow. natch
Hmmm, I used to be like that - eventually I started driving myself crazy. You need to make a conscious choice to let things be and go with the flow. YOu will end up driving people away if you continue to nit pick everything that happens... ...you cannot control everything nor can you change everything that goes wrong. It's best to just accept the things you cannot change and learn to control the antaganizing analazing
dutchie
I do this a lot too. I agree with Blue---I try to internalize it sometimes too. Say, when I am hanging out with someone that does not share my obsession for dissecting everything. (like my bf, he finds it very irritating!) I don't think you should stop completely, but don't drive yourself crazy! AndI also like what natch said about going with the flow---that helps.
