Oh sure!! what I meant was for exameple earlier you mentioned that last night you spent a lot of time arguing and talking and generally going over the situation with your g/f and I was curious to hear what her claims are in terms of what her stance is when you argue about this? What does she say she needs from you in order to take some of the heat off from having to speed up the D, or in otherwords is the D the only thing that will put her mind at ease an if so why? What is her stance when you argue about this? I ask this because it could shed some light into what it is that is holding her back. hope that made more sense Link to post Share on other sites
Author BigAl Posted February 6, 2008 Author Share Posted February 6, 2008 Her biggest complaint (?) is that I just need to move on with the divorce and get everything finalized. But when I remind her that the ex is not financially stable (right now) and that the ex has asked me to be patient while she gets on her feet, my gf backs down because she knows that if I go ahead and get the divorce, the judge is going to give me a dollar amount to pay her and that's not going to be enough. So she wants me to move forward, but she doesn't want to put them on the street. It's a rotating argument that we have periodically. And then I talk her in off the ledge and everything's fine. For a while. And then it starts up again. It's the typical gf vs. ex thing. She doesn't like when I work things out with the ex but she won't come out and say it. She feels like I'm favoring the ex sometimes when I'm definitely not. It's the simple fact that I was married to this woman for 9 years and we have a lot together. So it's not going to end overnight either. Right now the gf and I are great. We worked it out through e-mails during work yesterday and talking lastnight after work. We're going to make it... somehow. I'm definitely going to focus on the reassurance thing to maybe ward off our usual periodic argument. That Men Are From Mars book is very enlightening!
