Lizzie60
My young MM called me early this morning asking me if I'd be home this aft. I said I had to run a few errands.. anyway.. he called me around supper time, saying that he drove by to see if I was home.. and he said he would love to pick me up later and take me to his house. He wanted to show me where he lives.. He took me to his place. On the way back to my place, we listened to one of his CD, Charles Aznavour, a singer I used to listen to when I was a teenager, he wasn't even born yet.. We sang the songs together... he knows them by heart.. Then back at my place, I made him discovered one of my favourite singer when I was a teen... Léo Ferré... 'Avec le temps'... he looooved it. I felt like a I was a teen again... we had a good time.. Tonite was sooo special.. it felt soooo freaken good...

directx
Nights that I feel like a teenager are when its late at night, my friends are out with their gfs, and I'm home alone with the computer on a Saturday night listening to music from the 80's wondering where I went wrong. Not too much has changed!

Not too much has changed! Music has this tremendous ability to make us relive some good and not so good moments.. Tonite, it felt weird... it was songs I used to listen a zillion times when I was about 15-16.. (40 years ago) and I was with this 25 yr old guy who knew all the words... it felt strange and sooo good at the same time..

Lyssa
You had a good time, Lizzie hey? Good for you! I feel like a teenager when I get to have candy floss.... wait.. that makes me feel like a kid! Do people in the late 20s feel like a teenager now and then or only when you are above 35? I feel like a teenager all the time actually... okay, not ALL the time but every other week - for no reason.

directx
I honestly don't feel any more mature than I was when I was 20. Lizzie reminds me of one thing I always wanted to do: Just lock myself in a dark room and crank music while relaxing on the floor, maybe drinking a few with a special someone. How weird is that? That would be awesome.. do it.. I can't live without music, just like Lyssa.. music is like air to me, as soon as I get up in the morning, first thing ... after the bathroom is the music... otherwise I just can't start my day. Usually I sleep with music on all night on weekends. I love that. I don't feel more mature than when I was 25 too..but it just the memories (feelings) the songs bring back.. and to be like 40 yrs later with those same feelings I had when I was a teen.. felt quite odd... but good. I never thought he would love this kind of music.. it is more like signing poetry. I discovered another aspect of my young lover...

directx
I can relate Art Critic. Elton John singing 'Dont go breaking my heart' brings back an instant memory of me singing and dancing to that in my sisters room. I had to be 5 or 6. Kiss, way too many memories there. Especially Rock and Roll Over. This caused me to break out Peter Gabriel's 'So'. 1986 anyone?

directx
I love Meatloaf when the songs are about being in cars with a girl. I have a few memories like that, but not enough. For me, that is what I wish had more of and wish that I could go back to. Music is great when it's done right.

directx
Yeah, I like a station that plays good music through the night. But I gotta be looking outside at the night sky. And if its raining (I love the rain when indoors) its perfect.
