the_otherhalf
This seems like a question with an obvious answer, but I am somehow having trouble. I guess I should set my parameters. I would like to meet people (friends or potential dates) who are interested in current events, politics, the environment, etc. Something beyond drinking themselves into oblivion, I suppose. During the school week, I know there are numerous opportunities, from classes, lectures and such (but I still find it somewhat difficult to talk to people at these events unfortunately), but on the weekend, I can't find a place where college students congregate that doesn't involve drinking heavily and discussing drinking heavily. Coffee shops, perhaps? But how do you talk to someone randomly like that? I'm not against drinking by any means. I would just like to expand my horizons beyond that. I'm outgrowing my high school friends who all came to the same college, but I'm not sure where I can move to.
LikesMeNot
Join afterclass clubs and do what you like to do. Like politics? Join a debat team or something. Like chess? Join the chess club Enjoy playing an instrument? Join a band. .....You get the point..... This is an AWESOME way to hook up because the people with you have the same hobbies, meaning better compatibility, and always gives a interesting topic of discussion, which is key. If you're a klutz (no offense if you are), then it's gonna be hard. But EVERYONE is good at something, so go out there and find a mate!!!!!!!!!
