scottydog
Does anyone here have moments in your long distance relationship where you just have nothing to talk about in your phone conversations? I feel like my girlfriend and I have hit this point in our relationship. It's not always, but there are those occasional days. It's not that I don't want to talk to her, it's just that I absolutely have nothing to say and our conversations seem to drag with moments of silence until someone says something. Maybe talking everyday on the phone isn't such a great idea?
TMichaels
Yep, it happens. Don't be that concerned. However, do the two of you talk about what went on during your respective days? Not that that can be all that exciting every day, but it keeps you two involved and aware of each other's lives, and also gives you subject matter that you can follow up on in subsequent conversations. Sorry to say it, but there's only so many times and ways you can say "I love you," "I miss you" on every phone call before it gets a bit boring, predictable and to a certain extent, non-productive. If you haven't already, you might want to add IM's and webcams to your "methods of contact." You can share pix and videos, play interactive games, etc. which lends some variety and spontaneity that helps spice things up a bit, but still keeps you in contact with each other every day. All relationships are work, but LDRs sometimes require both parties to be more creative to keep things interesting and the relationship alive. Have fun and come up with your own innovative solutions. Whatever works for the two of you, is the important thing. Best, TMichaels
HisLove
We talk once a week on the phone (usually for hours at a time), we have our Saturday night 'date night' on webcam where we can see each other. Other than that the rest of the week is im mostly every night (unless one of us has to be somewhere else) and texts every day. So while we 'talk' every day, it's only on the phone once per week. Works for us.
