I'm getting married in less than a month.

Not looking forward to the day at all.

Should I have a few stiff drinks on the day before it all takes place?

10:00am - First ceremony

11:30am - Second ceremony

12:30am - Extended lunch

6:00pm - Reception

People from out of state staying in our house before and after the wedding and we're not allowed to leave for the honeymoon for 3 days. (tradition? pah)

WHA? Why are you having 2 ceremonies, a lunch and a reception? That sounds so torturous to me.

She has an asian background and so her mother has organized everything traditionally.

1st ceremony - Laos one, which isn't legal.

2nd ceremony - Civil one to make it official

Lunch - Laos thing where all her family bring something buffet style.

Reception - More regular Western thing.

This style of wedding seems to be all about grandstanding for the asian community. Well over 200 guests, I'm quite sure they don't know half of them.

About 10% of them are from my family/friends, the rest are her mothers.

Thanks Lizzie!

I don't really believe in weddings tbh.

I feel like a bit of a sellout for going along with it all, but I'm not paying for it so it doesn't affect me too much except for this one painful day.

Don't get me wrong, I love my partner and (ideally) want to spend the rest of my life with her, but I hate weddings.

Depends how hard will it be pee wearing your dress?

:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

I knew Enema wasnt a woman...

Weddings are about the family. Have a few drinks, but don't get too plastered that you slur your vows.

Hope it goes OK.

OMG I am so very sorry. In that case I say sure, get a soft buzz on, and make sure to drink just enough to keep it going ot numb the pain.

Look at the bright side, you don't have the expense but you get all the gifts

My husband is Chinese, I had the Chinese Wedding. My MIL had FIT because I refused to spend my wedding night at her house. I also had the 200+ people and we only knew about 70-100. Overall it was a very nice wedding, just took me some getting used to!
