Cocaine and Sex question

Recommended Posts

so my boyfriend and i met in recovery, and he's been secretly using for the past month or so. he's in rehab now.

the whole time i was looking around on the net to no avail able cocaine abuse and it's effect on sex drive. there didn't seem to be anything anywhere about it, but i came on here and saw a few postings some women wrote about it. i can't find them again otherwise i'd refer back.

basically he couldn't maintain an erection, and/or would prematurely ejaculate.

i'm just wondering if there's anything else i should look out for, anything that comes along with recovering addicts in the bedroom, etc. i know that cocaine abusers have a hard time getting and maintaining an erection once they've stopped, but i'm not sure how long that lasts for. i've never dated an ex-cokehead haha

I thought coke made it last forever once it got up?

Not really sure if there is anything going on once the habit stops though. I don't remember anything changing too much really from normal. No weird side effects once they're off of it at all.

But what do I know? I was kooked out of my head...

IME as a recovering addict, some men are unable to get an erection while doing coke. Some are, though. So that's not a given. My SO was also using when we met (we quit together). He never had any probelms even while he was using and we had quit some sexual experiences while doing drugs - he definately couldn't climax as quickly as normal (if at all) but had no problems with maintaing an erection.

Also, once they have quit the cocaine gets out of their system relatively quickly, and I always felt my withdrawal and cravings were completely psychological. I never had a problem with sexual activity with my SO once we both quit.

thanks everyone. yeah i nearly forgot writing that post. it was weird and i had a lot of emotions at the time.

i think it was a combination of a lot of things. as messed up as it may sound the sex was better and lasted longer when he started using again, which i know has to do with the drugs.

i dunno someone i know who was in school to become a drug councelor said that cocaine users when they stop using have a hard time getting and maintaining an errection, but now that i haven't been with this guy or even seen him since i wrote that, i have no clue.

we'll have to find out in a few months maybe :p experiment lol

Odd. I thought there was a song about sex on cocaine. Was it called sex on cocaine? It makes it sound like it's awesome.

Cocaine restricts blood vessels in the body, that's why some men can't get it up, it's the opposite to viagra!!!!!

I could use the opposite of viagra, but not that bad.

Anyway, there are stories about if you inject your scrotum or rod with cocaine, it gives you a super erection.

Not worth it IMO.

Also, the flaccidity and premature ejaculations: just another major reasons not to do drugs.
