oneofakind
I know this may be a strange question...but did any of you ever have a dream of your future spouse before you met him? I'm single, but about 3 years ago (I was 19 at the time), I had a detailed dream that involved me getting married to a handsome man who to this day I've seen before in my life. It was so real that at the end of my dream, I ran into the bathroom b/c I was in complete shock that I had actually gotten married.
Walk
No but my fiance told me a story about an ex of his that's along those lines. I guess what happened is she asked him one day if a certain set of numbers meant anything to him. When he said no, she told him she'd had a dream that the man she was supposed to marry would find those numbers significant. Obviously they aren't together anymore, but my fiance uses those numbers for everything. I think its kind of ironic because they seem like an identity to him now, yet she ditched him because those numbers didn't mean anything to him at the time. Moral of the story... dreams are usually representations of fears or unresolved conflict in your own head. Unless you can scientifically prove you can predict the future, then its probably healthier to accept that the dream was a dream and not a set in stone vision of your future. I suppose you could believe that all our futures are mapped out down to the last minute and we actually have no choice or control at all in how things will turn out... but I find that rather depressing and extremely unrealistic. Anyway... guess I'm just saying it might not be terribly healthy for you to believe a dream figure is real. And if you pass up every guy you'll ever meet in hopes of meeting some guy you dreamt about when you were 19, you'll very likely end up single and old.
Author oneofakind
Well, a couple of my friends who are married had a similiar experience, where they dreamed of their future spouse before even meeting him. I do have deja vu a lot, where I dream of stuff and it literally happens...crazy I know. But thanks for the advice.

quankanne
dream about him? Nope. Dreams are reserved for an exBF who suddenly seems to "get" what I needed from him and is now providing it, as well as a boy I had a crush on in high school. Normal stupid stuff gone into fantasy mode. I did pray for a man like my husband, though: Someone who I'd be willing to give myself whole-heartedly to, someone who made me laugh, someone who made me a better person because of his presence in my life to a point where compromise (when necessary) isn't really compromise, but mutually deciding to build a better us. oh, and the fact that he's got blue eyes just clinches that! Author oneofakind
Like I said...I've never seen this guy in my life. What bothered me was that if it were some concocted fantasy, I would not have freaked out so much in the dream. And when I got to see his face closeup, he wasn't as handsome as appeared from far away. His face was average in appearance, and it surprized me b/c I was expecting him to be much more handsome. Ah oh well....some people don't take dreams seriously anyways.
