SpanksTheMonkey
the current girl even though she's kinda fat and drinks a tad too much It was her smile that had me. I'm gonna go smoke a cig Hey Mex I know your kinda young and all but just to let you know allot of over weight people find the word fat in itself to be shallow and insulting. So I wouldn't go knocking Lizzy to much least shes honest in her likes and dislikes. Not trying to come down on ya or nothing but I'd refrain from calling the girl you like fat in front of her or behind her back for that matter. Wouldn't want to be shallow and all ya know just a little advice
Lizzie60
Lizzie in Los Angeles you see this all the time. It's ridiculous! I don't doubt it..but it's still the car the dad got them..
SpanksTheMonkey
Well said.. some people prefer black people, some people prefer caucasian, is that shallow? I don't think so. it's a preference.. but I guess some people mix 'shallow' with 'preference'.. oh well.. then I'm 'shallow' oops.. 'preferred' Interesting point Lizzie I once got into that on a different dateing message bord people were calling any one who had only one race ticked on their profiles racists. sb129
Interesting point Lizzie I once got into that on a different dateing message bord people were calling any one who had only one race ticked on their profiles racists. And that is exactly what is wrong with people today. They are too quick to get offended over things that are simply a matter of personal taste.
MexicanBillBacker
yeah.. his father's car... how can a 17 yr old guy have a 50,000$ car..come on now.. It was his 16 year old gift so yeah its his car
MexicanBillBacker
If you met Lizzie (or anyone who has a list of standards, and believe me, most do) you wouldn't have a clue that she HAD those standards, its not like we all go around with the list emblazoned on our Tshirts, or signs saying "If you smoke don't even bother trying". You might not ever find out what they were- you would just have a sense of not being compatible. Everyone has standards, whether they acknowledge them in a "list" or not. Having standards about someones personality is not that different from having standards about their looks, for example, I would never date someone who didn't have a decent sense of humour- thats not that different than saying I wouldnt date someone shorter than me. Both are fundamental characteristics that the person has no control over. I'd like someone more open to different types of people, different personalities. I have basically no standards, every girl is different and every single one has something special even if they are ugly as fug.
HokeyReligions
I am like you Yong.. so what? I don't see it as being shallow but having personal preference... I don't like fat men (they are not fit).... I won't date them.. I don't like smokers (they don't care about their health)... I won't date them.. I don't like short men...(I prefer tall, dark and hansome) I won't date them.. I don't like men that drive old rusty cars...(that means they can't afford a decent car) I won't date them.. I don't like men that have no paying jobs...(that means they're not educated) I won't date them.. I don't like men that live with roomates...(they are losers and can't afford a place of their own) I won't date them.. I don't like men that wear tacky clothes...(they have no taste) I won't date them.. If this is shallow.. I really don't give a hoot... at least, I know what I want and what I DON'T WANT.. There is no shame or guilt in knowing what you want and what you don't want. What I find interesting is your labeling people based on these traits. That is what seems so shallow and ignorant to me. I have a low-paying job and a college degree and I graduated with a 4.0GPA. I've worked with a variety of people with various degrees, including a couple of Phd's, and who chose the career they want even though they make very little money. What you may consider tacky clothes is a choice and doesn't mean that the person wearing them has no taste. Same with rusty cars and roommates. To slap those labels on people based on appearance is no different than saying you wouldn't date black men because they all love watermelon and you don't. Saying you won't date short men because you like them tall, dark, and handsome is the only thing you said that doesn't slap on a label. Knowing your own tastes is great - you know what you want, but when you start labeling people you come off sounding bigoted and I would like to think you don't mean to sound that way. If you really believe those labels I feel sorry for you. For anyone, dating someone they think they *should* rather than standing up and saying they won't date them because that person's appearance is not appealing is honest, and actually respectful. I wouldn't want to date someone who thought they *should* date me for some reason, but that really wasn't interested or attracted would be a huge slap in my face and totally disrespectul. Mahatma
hmmm, power lifters can be pretty fat but in no way are they weak, or unhealthy(assuming they don't take steroids) perhaps peoples goals are simply different? They can have muscles, which is not fat. And contrary to what you said, body builders don't really have a healthy lifestyle. They purposely get a lack of cardio exercise so they don't burn the cals and can stay big.
RecordProducer
I find it amazing. Even a guy that looks like "that" would want to date a fit girl that goes to the gym. Those guys should look at themselves in the mirror and date another one that looks like them. Not only that, but if tell them to look in the mirror, they think "Oh, well, I can't change my looks, it's not my fault, [not talking about obese people], but why wouldn't a pretty girl like ME?" They don't get it that the real question is: why don't they fall in love with an unattractive girl instead? They actually do fall in love with the whole personality, but the girl's looks also plays a role and they want the girl to ignore their looks - because they see the world through the prism of their own interets. WTF, why the hell does everyone think I am a chick , Arch is a unisex name dammit. We didn't knowit as your REAL name. Sorry, but you didn't explain who you were or what was your case. You posed a general question and we developed the subject spontaneously. when I said the company owned it, I relized your dad was the ceo or whatever. and to tell you guys the truth you can own a jet and a nice car and you don't even have to be that rich. I gaurantee the not only is the jet her father suposedly owns not only owned by the company, but also through a partnership with other people. She probably doesn't even relize that fact, I'm suprised she knew it was owned by the company at all. You're dewwling on it too much, baby. Her point was that she is wealthy; she just mentioned the jet as an example. The more hair I lose, the more head I get! If that's a puzzle, then the solution is: you're aging! Everyone wishes they could be like me. Smart and cool, handsome, wealthy and so sexy. They need a hero, somebody who is just like me!Kerry Grant said: "Everyone wants to be Kerry Grant. Even I do." lets put it this way: i am 21 and drive a $35,000 car. it doesnt help. one of my friends says it makes me into a douche bag. what do you guys think? So replace the car! I don't think your car makes you a douchebag, nor are you driving such an expensive car. really? i dont see how he managed that. but it all depends on the person. my biggest fault is that i dont see myself as a good person, yet do nothing to fix it.i like to use cars and $$$ as a means to keep happy and not worry so much about my women problems.I wonder if you're really such a jerk as you want to believe you are or if other people convinced you of that. Every time when you do something that - in your book - is not right, prevent yourself from doing it. Learn to apologize. Anyway, what makes you a douch bag? (other than your car ) body builders don't really have a healthy lifestyle. This is true. They inject steroids which ruin the heart and too much protein, which is not good for the liver, because it can't process high amounts of protein.

They purposely get a lack of cardio exercise so they don't burn the cals and can stay big. Powerlifters are not Body Builders, and studies have shown high amounts of cardio have a negative impact on the body. Iv seen power lifters with 30% body fat or more. Steroids are used allot but not everyone uses them. A guy that set a world record in dead lifts did it all naturally.

sb129
Actually studies have shown obesity is greatly influenced by genetics as well. There is some truth to this, however are parents passing on 'genes' or 'bad habits'? i think its mainly the latter, and lots of people seem to be comforted or exonerated by the 'genetic' excuse. If it was purely genetic, then we would have seen a reasonable number of obese people throughout history, and we haven't really, it seems to be mainly a 20th Century pandemic. How many times do you see obese parents out shopping or eating with their kids who are also obese? I see it alot- and the parents are passing on their bad eating habits to their kids, you only have to look in their shopping trolley or at whats on their restaurant table to see that. Obese parents are less likely to be active with their kids, and therefore unconsciously encourage less active behaviour in kids. Its a vicious circle.
