confused2007
I'm a recent University grad (BBA in Ops Mngmt) who accepted a position at an ultra small company (@ 15 employees) doing Operations related job duties. The company is not technologically up to date and has many issues that small companies usually have - in the functional sense. Here's my dilemma: I am getting treated very well (Pay, responsibilties, perks, travel, hours, office space, good relationship with boss), but I am worried that if things were to not work out, would I be in trouble? Meaning, how would working in a small untechnologically savvy company reflect on me if I were to interview at another company? More specifically a larger corporation. I'm sure my knowledge and work duties/responsibilities would be laughed upon at larger companies. The reason I say this is from the information given to from friends whom worked at larger companies, in the same field, have totally different work responsibilties - usually more complex. What furthers my uncertainty is that I enjoy working for a smaller company for many reasons. I haven't known anyone in my situation, so advice is scarce. Anyone been in a similar predicament? Am I worried over nothing? Any/All opinions are welcome
BUENG1
Hmm well I'm still in college in a somewhat similiar field(Mfg Eng). I've never really used any programming languages or anything like that in the few operations classes I've taken. I guess it would hurt if your not doing as much as you should, or if the company is kind of backwards, it could hurt you but other than I doubt it. Also alot of jobs I am interviewed for applied for had responsibilities that really weren't related at all, that hired for my major.

Ya, I guess sometimes I feel like I should be doing more OM (Operations Management) oriented tasks, but I woudn't know since its my first job (That requires a degree) out of college. Maybe I'm worrying too much, but it also doesn't hurt to look to the future.
