What is a "Player"?

I hear women talk about how some guys are "players".

 

What is the definition of a player?

 

I get the sense that women are initially attracted to players but then get burned by them. What is so attractive about them in the first place?

 

Also, can women be players as well as men?

Both men and women can be players. A player is one who likes to suck the initial nector out of each person, staying with them long enough to get their jollies...perhaps go to bed with them...and be off to the next conquest. Players are not looking for long term relationships or anything serious for that matter.

 

Players aren't bad people, they just aren't ready to settle down. If you don't spot them, that's your fault. But players are very good at appearing to their target that they are finally ready to settle down, no matter what their reputation might be. But once a target is conquered, it's off to the races.

 

Players are part of the fauna and flora of the romantic environment and they have their place. Many of them are tragically afraid of commitment for various reasons. Others just like poking as many females as possible. A few are Peter Pans and never seem to grow up.

so how does one spot a player? ... holding off sex may not help, because until they've "conquered", they'll stick to it.

I find the "players" I've encountered are usually oggling other women when they are with me on a date. In my view, it's ok to look but gawking is just plain rude.

 

If they seem eager to advance the relationship faster than you're comfortable with...watch out! If they are all about you and not acting realistic at the beginning, that's another sign.

 

I think yes, definitely men and women can both be "players" We're all human, after all.

 

 

Fortunately, I can now see them coming a mile away. LOL
