samsungxoxo Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Ok so I am only wondering where do they damn get the whole honor your folks thing. I am saying this b/c I keep hearing some that say that your future gets screwed or you rot (something like that, I dunno) if you ever dared talked back or lay a hand on them. Mind ya but I have talked back many times and yes I snap at my mother on two occassions last year and I got a life.
Rooster_DAR Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 It's psycho babble, like many things in the bible. But, I don't make it a habit to hit my parents, I'm just saying.
AdrianaLima Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Well that get that "honor your folks thing", as you say, in the bible. It's a Commandment.
Enema Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 It's all part of effective religious indoctrination. Hit them when they're young and make sure the first thing you teach them is that parents have a special place and should never be questioned or doubted. Brainwashing 101.
Moose Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Ok so I am only wondering where do they damn get the whole honor your folks thing.Granted, some parents don't deserve honor. However, without the decisions and sacrifices they've made, you wouldn't be here at all......this, "I got a life" mentality you're so proud of, you owe to your parents regardless of how they treated you. I would lay my life down for my kids if I had to.....what more can one do to deserve honor and respect?? Do you think your parents didn't have anything else better to do than to make sure you grew up a reasonable young lady?
EnigmaXOXO Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Ok so I am only wondering where do they damn get the whole honor your folks thing. I learned it at the end of my father’s belt. And on occasion, at the bottom of my mother’s pepper shaker. In my house, parents were GOD. Thank God, they never made me eat Lifeboy, though!
