Vero1244
I can't recall the last time I did something rememberable. Something that was worth everything, even the world. It doesn't add up, I'm a fourteen year old living the life of an old widow. I need to get out but I lack the motive. Advice is golden.

I'm 31 now (It sounds old but it's really great to be 31). In fact, I hadn't done much rememberable when I was 16. What I do remember about being 14 and kind of a shy girl is that I felt like my life was passing me by. Then I discovered travelling. I would apply for all the week study exchanges, of teen forums, or whatever. I travelled all across the country, met a bunch of people, had some great parties and it eventually lead me to chose the career I have. What are you interested in? What do you like? What counts as rememberable to you? I envy you... ah to be bored and 14 again...
Author Vero1244
Rememberable is really just having a decent time. Laughing and enjoying the people I am around. One of the major things stopping me is I don't want to be pulled out of my comfort zone. When I am around people, I feel obligated to do stupid stuff and not just relax. So, that is what I like to do, relax..like taking walks or sitting in coffee shops. Although, this is exactly why a lot of people find me so boring. They have other views of what a good time is. Perhaps, it is just the people I choose as friends because as of now, I wouldn't be satisfied looking back on my life as a kid.

I also felt like I had to do stupid stuff, and be into stuff I wasn't really into just to belong. I felt like I always needed to be funny, or happy or perky. I wish I had had a different experience, so that I could tell you that you should just relax. You should. We both know that. Yet, like I said, high school is a strange place. I admire you for realizing now who you are and what you like. I think this will make your late teens and early twenties easier. I know that probably sounds far from now. Do you belong to any clubs, do any sports, etc? I'm not saying you're a geek, but I was and I eventually accepted my geeky nature and joined my school's debate team. We would travel to these private school, debate serious and not serious subjects and then hang out overnight. It was great fun. I had a tougher time with sports team. I made them but never felt comfortable because it seemed that I couldn't be myself around the athletes. And I know this isn't much comfort - but it gets way easier by the last year of high school and then college. Go to college: you're going to have a great time there. I found a bunch of people who's idea of a good time was sitting around cafés, talking time away.
Author Vero1244
Yeah, I'm involved in Drama club. I love it there. The thing is that never lasts long enough nor do I bond with anyone in particular. To change that, Im actually trying to convince my mom to take me to a school for it over the summer and expand from there. I should meet a lot of people to relate to. I'm in 9th grade, the grade of discovering yourself, and thanks to you I'm feeling a lot better and secure about where I'm leading myself.
Ofleg7
If you're doing the things you enjoy then there's no problem here, you will create your own memories, you probably already have but just don't realise it yet. Keep doing what you love doing, don't be a sheep.

Oh, hell, I'm 36 years old and I still haven't done anything memorable to leave a mark on the world but for a lot of very high bills. I remember being very full of dreams and high spirits at 14. Your idea of a summer drama club is a terrific idea, and if it's 'your thing', I say go for it. But don't just go for it - work the hell out of it. Maybe drama and acting is your special talent, and you've just found it very early in life - that's an incredible piece of luck! It takes some years to find out what their thing is. 9th grade is a tough time emotionally, yeah - I equate it to being in the middle of a road with 600 paths leading off from that road, and you're standing there going, "Ack. Which way do I go, how do I know that's the right path, what if I get lost, what if I make the wrong decision, etc." And the only thing I can say is, follow the path that is right for you, despite what anyone thinks. Peer pressure sucks, yeah, but don't let that pull you in a different direction than where you want to go. You'll end up paying for it later. I wish I were 14 again, I'd have the chance to make myself some different choices, that's for sure.
