NeverKno Posted March 18, 2008 Share Posted March 18, 2008 Here is the low-down: Roughly 3 months ago I started chatting with a girl on a social networking site. We live in the same city but she was (and still is) studying on the other side of the Atlantic - the side that I'm not on. The online conversations soon shifted to the phone and we'd talk for hours (the record so far is 6 hours straight). I've never felt like this about anyone before let alone someone I've never met! Her birthday is coming up and I'd like to send her a little something. She explained that its going to be kind of a depressing day for her because all of her friends and family won't be around to celebrate. I was thinking of sending her a package containing a bunch of items for her to have a small party by herself. Party hat, silly string, some snacks that remind her of home, a funny dvd...etc. Is this a good idea or will it only make her feel more alone on her birthday? I'm also open to other gift suggestions. An even better way would be to send her a package and then you have the same stuff, and have a little party over webcam - if she doesn't have one -they are relatively inexpensive - send her one of those too. MakeLemonade Posted March 18, 2008 Share Posted March 18, 2008 Send her something that opens up like a party - like a few helium balloons on top that will pop out when she opens it Then have the webcam wrapped, along with the party hat, noisemaker, or whatever else you want to throw in there - a cake wouldn't travel very well, but maybe some good candy (bissinger's or godiva), or something she especially likes if you know. Some women could care less for the expensive, just hand over the Reese's and nobody get's hurt! Maybe even a little treasure hunt - like clues where to find you (a certain chat room if that is your thing) or who knows, just throwing out ideas here..... Use your imagination, I am sure you can come up with some good ideas once you go out shopping for the stuff. You are the one who knows her, you will be able to figure out what might be good and what might not be so good.
