Rio Rose Posted August 16, 2012 Share Posted August 16, 2012 hi everyone. im completely new here, so ive sort of got lost!! think im in the right place as i wanted to talk about meeting long distance relationship after a long time, but i can find the place to make a thread!! so bare with me if you could! i guess i just wanted to talk and hear what you guys think about my situation.... here goes.. so i visited brazil four years ago, and in rio de janeiro i met a guy who was three years older than me and i ended up kissing and talking to in a very romantic evening. he instantly captured me for some reason but i was young and travelling the world and thought not as much of it, but just remember being taken aback by his genuine nature, wonderful, happy personality and gorgeous face/body since that night, we began talking online, and its now been three years that we have spoken. we dont speak all day everyday, sometimes not for a week, sometimes we message, sometimes we text, sometimes we call, sometimes we videochat - it is all very relaxed and there is no pressure. but we have an understanding with each other and both know that we are very much drawn to each other and feel quite deeply for each other - though we hold back on just how seriously we indulge in this fairytale as we both know how sensible we have to be for now. but we have fallen for each other, in a very special way. so i have to stom rambling. basically, we have something very special on the horizon. it is two years this summer until i go and stay in brazil for a summer. I have a job arranged thre for the world cup so am visiting regardless, but we gave ourselves a summer to see where it goes. please understand i am explanining a relationship that i know may not end up perfect, or even continue beyond a day if it all doesnt work out perfectly, bt im sure theres the old romantics here...anyways...i just wanted to know what your experiences were, after meeting someone and having to wait....cos we will have waited six years. so evidently life has to go in between...but its so mad knowing that this thing is out there waiting for me....cos i know its real..... just nway experiences would be greeat. and any advice for meeting himm!!!! thankyou! xxx Link to post Share on other sites

He can't come here for longer cos of work, and I can't leave here for longer because of my responsibilities here for more than about 10 days. I'm going to have to catch up on your threads in case you've detailed this mystery man. Oh nice 10 days for us too Longest we've had together is 11 days. He can't come here for longer cos of work, and I can't leave here for longer because of my responsibilities here for more than about 10 days. Oh well, we grab what we can when we can, what else can we do 10 days! When we get to add an extra day because of a holiday it feels like a gift, doesn't it? A freebie. It keeps us mindful that every moment matters. I appreciate that part of LDRs. Only half a month for me ... but that's better than nothing, anyway! That's MUCH better than nothing, I think. I haven't spoken to him in 2 weeks now. The excitement has all been replaced by annoyance! He keeps apologising but I can't help being irritated with it all and just so sick of long distance. Ugh. amayana Posted August 24, 2012 Share Posted August 24, 2012 The plan was that I was going to see him in November for Thanksgiving so in two months. However, everything has changed. Tomorrow I'll book my plane ticket to go see him NEXT THURSDAY! I've been ill and not feeling well, both psychologically and physically. Obviously my first wish was to go see him and we managed to find some time despite his very busy schedule. It will be quite stressful and crazy... But I need him right now. When my boyfriend was packing for his three months away, he still hadn't packed the day he was leaving (he had a midnight coach). Ridiculous. 10 days!
