Countdown - How long till you see your SO?

Recommended Posts

I really feel like you get a better sense of your SO when you meet the company they keep when you're not there. Plus it's always nice to put a face to the name. :)

In my case, I'm meeting his family for the first time... and I can't say I'm relaxed about it!! :D but not freaking out, either. I'm a month and a little bit more away from seeing him again :)

Best of luck!!! I'm sure everything will go fine. It's normal to be a little nervous; I remember going through the same thing too and now I look back at how silly I was to worry. Have you spoken at all on the phone or webcam? I feel that can break the ice a bit too.

The month will fly by! :)

Thank you!! :D :D I know, I know I don't have to worry... :D but still!, specially because I'll be the "foreigner girlfriend" and because it's about to be a year since I last saw him!

Yes, that would be a good idea, but I very much doubt it would be possible, as he lives on his own flat and we are currently in different time zones (5/6 hours). I feel this visit is going to be a big step in our relationship. It either gives us a boost and we keep going strong or... the contrary happens. The fact that it's almost certain that I'm meeting the family just adds a bit more of stress/excitement and I don't want to mess it up! :D

No problem! I always try to make a good first impression, but I feel like in an LDR it's THAT much more important because you don't get to interact with the friends/family on a regular basis. I'm sure they're just as excited and nervous to meet you too.

I see her in 10 days, spending 10 days with her. Then she is coming out in 4 weeks to see me, and then in less than 3 I will be out back to her home town to help her move in with me! :)

Had a fantastic visit and now we're back to about 44 days. Sigh.

So glad to hear you had a great visit! My countdown now started around 44 days; it seriously flew by! Hang in there. :)

Happy from seeing him, sad now he's gone. Had a wonderful time, my friends were saying to him when are you moving over?! I said to him after that I did tell my friends he's not moving and that me and him both know the score, and also that his friends/family could equally ask me/him if I'm going to move there, and he said circumstances might change, so that's nice, a bit of hope I guess, although I have to think along the lines of it might never happen as he also said that a few months ago, so who knows. I tend not to think about our future since his job transfer didn't happen.

It doesn't feel like the right thing to end it at all, even though I came very close to it a few weeks ago, every time we meet I feel our bond gets stronger.

Neither of us want to give up, for now anyway.

Probably not until May because of Easter holidays taking up half of April and it costs too much to travel then, and then Bank Holiday early May

So we won't spend my, or his birthday, or our Anniversary together.

:(

1 month exactly from today! I'm so excited, it'll have been 10 months apart.

Well after knowing each other 3 years online, we finally met up last summer for the first time, and he's moving to where I am at in April :) We were best friends before we decided to become a couple last summer. So 4 weeks from today, we will be together ...for good :) He's already got 95% of his stuff here in the house and it won't be long. I'm excited, nervous, anxious and all but it's finally happening after 3 long years. He is worth it!
