Countdown - How long till you see your SO?

Recommended Posts

Wow, a whole year, it would kill me to wait that long lol. Awwww  I'm so happy for you guys. How long will the visit be? I'm so nosy lol. And I am glad to see another "gal" username ha.

Thank youuu! It's definitely been a tough year, but he'll be here for 22 days. :) It's so crazy. You don't see many gal usernames now that I'm thinking of it, but it's definitely nice to see another :D

Glad to know i'm not the only one :) He would be coming down here for the Thanksgiving holiday so probably a 5 day visit and then he'd be back in December for a month. It just hurts cause we've never gone so long without seeing each other. How long will your visit be for?

I know, it is tough going that long in between visits but at least you have a few days and a nice, long month visit coming up. Nice!

We will be together for a week. I was with him for 3 months during the summer and we had so much fun together which makes it hard being apart now since we were together everyday lol.

Keep us posted! Take care :)

22 days is awesome! Enjoy it. You two won't be able to let go of your embrace after that long apart. Hug tight. Let us know how the visit goes :D

That's what i'm looking forward to everyday :) And I went through the same thing!! We were actually together a year and half before going LD and he left back in January for Grad School so when he came back for the 3 months of summer it was amazing cause we spent everyday together as well so I started getting use to being with him again so it's been hard getting use to the distance again but if all goes well he should be done with school by May or June so i'm keeping my fingers crossed :bunny: :bunny: take care as well :)

Pretty rough at times, but determined to go no matter how I feel, it's most likely stress related knowing me...I've been pretty stressed the past year about various things, it catches up with me physically in the end :(

I also have agoraphobia and when I've spent more than a week at his before I've started getting panicky about being in another country. I need to see it through though. It helps that he's clearly looking forward to it

Thank you for asking :)

How are you feeling now, HoH? :)

Yes! A whole 9 weeks! :bunny::bunny::bunny:

We're at my place in the UK - visiting family, going out with friends, trips to the specialist (yippee!), lots of 'alone' time ;) and making plans for our wedding early next year.

This is the longest time we've had together so far and I think we've settled into it rather too easily!:laugh: It's going to be a terrible wrench for both of us when he has to go back to work but we're ignoring that for now and just 'living in the moment'!:love:

Haven't seen you around for a while . . . hope things are going very well for you.

About 10 days to go, and today he said he's trying to get 2 weeks over xmas/new year, which amazed me as I thought it would be a week maximum! So I really hope those 2 weeks get approved!!

49 days for me~

It may be the last time we see each other, but I'm looking forward to the visit all the same. 8,070+ miles...just too far! :(

Awww, sorry to hear that. Nonetheless, hope you two enjoy your time together.

Thank you, both of you :)

Things are going very well for us. He's here until 14th November so we will have had over three months together when he goes back. We're not looking forward to that obviously but he should be able to get back for Christmas and New Year.

Lots of major changes going on for both of us too. Some planned and others just 'out of the blue', so it's been a very stressful time, but we're hanging in there and supporting each other through it.

My health is slowly improving but still no answers. I'm under SOS with the specialist now, which means if things take a sudden turn for the worse he will see me immediately, so that's reassuring at least. Fingers and toes crossed I'll never need to see him again though! :)

Just came back from spending 2 weeks with my man. This time next year we should be finish with all the logistics and closing the distance. Last year went by quick but this year, since we've decided to finally close the distance, feels like it's going by so slow.

Thanks for the updates! I'm suspecting your health & medical situation is a major influence on everything else you plan or do, so I'll continue to keep that in mind.

2 days, argh, lots to do before then, and nerves kicking in (agoraphobia, traveling isn't my favourite thing), hope I won't get homesick this time, damn I wish we lived in the same country.

The 9 hours traveling is always worth it though when I see him waiting at the station for me in Brussels

And he's coming here for 2 weeks for xmas and new year! :)

Just wanted to report that I have moved cross-country to move in with my SO after 15 months in an LDR. Setting up the house now and I couldn't be happier!

For those that have moved or considering moving, how do you feel about leaving family behind? That's my only issue. I feel like a hypocrite because I said I would "never move for a man" but here I am considering it (never thought I would in a million years). We've been together for a year and a few months and we both are aware that eventually the distance has to end. We are both patient. He can't find work in my state and he's been trying so so hard for months but no luck...and he can't just leave his job and move to me that wouldn't be smart as his savings would dry up quickly and if he doesn't find work he'd have to depend on me after his saving are gone and he'd feel like crap. And he can't transfer. However, I can transfer. Where I work my boss would transfer me to another location right by his home, in the same state!

My only issue is, I would miss family too much :( I feel like a big baby and I'm in my late 20s lol. I am so very close to my sisters and my mother. I'd hate to leave them behind and don't want them thinking I don't care about them. I do love my boyfriend and we are in a very serious, committed relationship and my family have met him and like him but they don't want me moving though. I may feel miserable once I move even though I would be happy to be with him.

How do you handle it? I don't know what I should do.

Hope someone can chime in. Thank you.
