andysw
While Jesus Christ was on the cross he cried out "Father, why have you forsaken me?" Why did Jesus ask this when he himself knows that he's the saviour of all mankind (from sin)? That's something I don't understand.
Taramere
My understanding of the usual explanation is that he was quoting from psalm 22 of the Old Testament, which begins with those words. It describes/predicts what sounds like the crucifixion of a Messiah (with people staring, mocking and drawing lots for his clothes). So he may have been echoing the "where's your God now?" question of some of the crucifixion spectators and then answering it.
