Old Flame

I've ust recently started talking with an old flame. We had a very special relationship, I've never felt as close with another person. I ended the relationship, and I belive it was a mistake. After that, things got pretty ugly between us, I refused to admit my mistake and took it out on her. I haven't been in a relationship the has lasted more than a few weeks since. Whan we we're talking, she told me that she still had very strong feelings for me and that she misses what we had. This blew me away, after all I had done she still has those old feelings. From what she has told me, it has torpedod every relationship since. She is currently in a relationship with a friend of mine from back home and is unhappy. We go to school 300 miles apart and she's studying abroad next semester. I have a commitment tis summer which will keep me far from home. I realy want to be with her but I'm torn between what my heart is telling me and the reality of the situation. Just looking for some words of advice.

Ryan,

Long distance friendships work. She needs to figure out

what she wants to do and you have to be a FRIEND to her

If you in any way convince her that being with this other person is wrong or going away is wrong she will resent you one day for not being true to her and what she wants to do, listen to her don't interject. I'll say this, if the two of you do want to be together you have to trust and be calm. You are going to be apart for a long time before you see each other. It's really important to be very good friends to eachother and respect each other. Just because two people arn't around eachother all the time doesn't mean that they are doing wrong. Yes, again long distance friendships work you have to be mature and patient.

Go for it Ryan!!!

Heather.

Hi!

Your heart is reality. You have to live with your feelings for the rest of your life. It should come first, before anything else. Happiness is a feeling. It's not something that can be achieved through actions or goals. What do you do when you're 95 years old, and your career is over. All you have left are the people you opened your heart up to. And the memories that you've shared with them.
