12th grader dating a 9th grader?

Recommended Posts

First off what would you think about a 12th grader(me) dating a 9th grader? I don't think its a big deal if we like each other and if we don't really care about the age, but what would your reactions be? That leads me to my second point. How do I talk this girl? I noticed her a couple of weeks ago and can't get her out of my head. I've never felt like this about a girl I've never even talked to. I'm a pretty shy guy so talking to her won't be easy but I'm willing to try talking to her and create attraction but I need some advice on this. She's a couple of years younger than me so I don't want to come off too strong at first right? I'm thinking I'll have to slowly connect with her. But as I said I'm shy so I need to know how to talk to her the first time. I see her once in a while in the hallway but she is always with her friends so this makes it even harder to talk to her.

I wouldn't think it would be a big deal...

Girls mature faster than guys so she will be emotionaly closer to you than you realize..

You will have to understand though that as a 9th grader she is going to have more parental restrictions placed on her because of her age..ie: curfews or she might have to call her parents if her plans change.. those type of things...but those can be worked around if you just understand them.

There are plenty of 9th grade girls dating 12th graders..

Go for it... Just walk up to her and start a conversation about what she did this weekend..Make the conversation about her for right now as you are shy and it will help with the flow...

Other than issues of statutory rape if you are 18 or in some states, like Texas, if you are 17. I am also a senior, and I don't look like it. I look more like the age of 16 or 17, so the girls I attract are one or two years younger. I think you will find that when dating a 9th grader, maturity levels are different as well as interests. There is nothing wrong with talking to her and seeing how things go though.
