Thinking Of Botox ......

Recommended Posts

LOVE DAISIES

Hi all. I know this sounds shallow and I'm really not.

I don't think I am aging very well...I look at my skin and see the effects of

sun damage, and the appearance of wrinkles. It depresses me.

I also favor my dad and my grandmother a lot (his mother)..and neither one of them aged very well. If this is hereditary I fear this is what I will

begin looking like in another 10 years, unless I begin taking better care of my skin. Don't get me wrong, I am not haggish looking by any means..I am pretty attractive.....but at the same time I fear looking old before my time!

Has anyone here tried Botox? Or Restalyne? I am considering doing both...if you've done it, were the results good? Is there anything longer lasting you can recommend? I am goong to make a consultation soon and find out my options....

Thanks guys!!!

I just started working at an Ophthalmology practice that actually does botox. I klnow ophthalmology is for your eyes but we have some plastic surgeons that come in to work out of our office a few days a month. Several of the employees have had botox and had good results. The only negative thing I have heard of is that some people have bruised from it. The bruise does go away but it can take a couple weeks and if it is on your face people will ask questions. Around here most doctors will do a free consult to discuss your options and what would be the best product for the results you want. I would recommend that you call around and find a place that does free consuts and go and discuss it with them. You can also research it online and find a lot of information about it. But so far I haven't heard anyone say they wish they hadn't had the botox and everyone has been happy with the results.

Id have to see a pic to see if you need it or not. some wrinkles look good on a woman. Others, well, they could be a leather face. Are you staying out of the sun now?

I think Katie Couric looks like an alien since she started Botoxing her forehead. I don't understand why she prefers looking expressionless and freakish to having a few frown lines. Plastic, bulgy forehead is not attractive.

My MIL has the Restalyne {sp} injections. Its not a one-time thing - its periodic. She looks plastic and fake and I don't think its attractive at all. She's also had a couple of face-lifts over the years. She had some kind of plastic surgery or injections or something to her hands. Instead of looking younger she now looks like a mosaic some kid put together using cut-up photos from magazines, she looks unnatural. After a while as the body ages the bits that aren't real anymore stand out far worse than if she'd just accepted aging and kept her dignity. No one says anything to her because she thinks she looks beautiful and its what she thinks about herself that matters.

I'm aging and don't like the wrinkles and jowels I can see beginning to develop, but I'd rather those than look plastic. I do color my hair though!

To each his own, but do as someone else suggested - talk to some professionals and get a good consult to see what might work best for you and how much you can expect to keep doing over the years to make the effect last.
