What do you make of this quote from Marilyn Monroe?

LucreziaBorgia

All I can say is that she came to that conclusion honestly. It is a direct reflection of her experiences. She had an all too short and unhappy life.

Taken out of context, do I believe it in general for myself? Only when I'm in a particularly bad mood, or feeling jaded and angry.

Maybe if she spent a little less time screwing President's, mob bosses and sports stars, she wouldn't have be so bitter when it comes to relationships.

it's a statement made purely out of self-defense. You know, you leave before you can be left by the one you love. I suppose it's a way of surviving relationships, but it also doesn't allow for a more honest, open way of experiencing them!

"A wise girl kisses but doesn't love, listens but doesn't believe and leaves before she is left." -Marilyn Monroe

Words of wisdom. I knew there was a reason (beyond the fact that she is beautiful) that I liked Marilyn! The girl spoke truth!
