Karyyk
I've kind of had a lapse in the last few days. It seems I'll do fine, then I end up at a bar and that kills it (or getting bad news, or both) and that kind of kills it. Starting over again today...
blind_otter
I found, when quitting, that avoiding those situational triggers during the first few weeks can be extremely helpful. So why not avoid going to the bars for 2-3 weeks and see how much progress you make, then test yourself with an outing.
climbergirl
Alcohol is the worst trigger, IMO. Maybe try to avoid alcohol completely for a month or so until the urge to smoke has decreased. Also, I found that mixing up your daily routine helps as well. Get out of the house more, eat lighter foods (a smoke after eating was another trigger of mine), walk/run/bike etc. And, in the beginning, tootsie roll pops helped distract me from smoking. Just suggestions--I'm on day 23 and these are what helped me. The first 4 days were sooo hard, but it seems that after that hurdle it gets much easier. Props to you for being so determined to stop smoking.
