twice_shy
So' date=' the situation is my girlfriend of 2 and a half years broke up with me 2 weeks because I told her about me going out with another girl in the past summer. I know this sounds bad on my part, but we had little to no contact that month, and I guess I was just trying to do something to take the pain away from not being able to see her. We went to dinner and a movie, but NOTHING sexual happened. I took her to her car and that was the end of the date. I didn't want to tell me girlfriend about this, because not only would I know she would be mad about me going out with someone else, but I didn't think she would believe me if I told her that nothing happened. I love this girl to death, and the past 2 weeks have killed me. know I abused her trust, but she had did the same that summer, only I found out shortly after. She, however, did have sexually relations with another guy, leaving me hurt then.[/quote'] Geez, she has sex with another guy, but dumps you for seeing a movie. Granted, I'd dump someone for going on a date, sex or no sex, but she has no right to complain. Actually, I don't know why you care, she cheated on you and had sex with another guy. She is worthless. I'd be glad you aren't with the huss any longer. Move on and find someone that won't betray you like that. I tried to put the summer in the past completely, not wanting to remember my date, but it eventually caught up to me. She said she isn't mad about me going out with her, but is mad that I hid it for a whole year... To hell with her. she f####d another guy behind your back. She has no right to be angry. I really want this girl back in my life Why? So she can cheat on you again? ... Does the relationship look to be a lost cause?? To me its a lost cause because she is a cheater. Granted, what you did was not good. But its a lost cause because not only is she a cheater, she left you for doing the same thing as she did, only on a much smaller scale. So here she is expecting you to forgive her for spreading her legs for another guy, but she doesn't want to forgive you for what you did which wasn't anywhere near as bad as what she did. She is selfish and yes, its a lost cause because of that fact alone.
m-helton
Thanks for all your posts... I guess I'm just so used to being with this girl I don't want to accept what is right in front me of... I mean, I thought it was wrong of me to do what I did, and I do regret it, but if she can't forgive me for that, I guess you all are probably right... I guess it's time to start the healing. t_veron
Something I learned is that most relationships come to a point early on called the "time-off" or "break-up" which is really a way to gage the other person's commitment towards you. I've come to realize one partner will usually have sex with others during this time while the other may date, talk, or spend time with others but remain commited hoping the other will realize that this relationship is worth fighting for. Unfortunately the one with the higher interest in the relationship usually gets screwed. From what you mentioned her ploys to make you out at the bad is simply to gain control over you by constantly reminding you that you screwed up. Not only does this take her off the hook because you're constantly in "I'm sorry" mode but it helps her keep you in check. She's not long-term relationship material and if you used her for sex only your emotions would get the better of you. Walk away even if she calls or emails. If you get upset she'll use that against you and try to cause drama. Avoid contact with her. Good luck!
