Lookingforward
What strength you possess. I bet it would be an enthralling short story written out. Perhaps you could write an ending where the returning woman, infinitely wiser, begins a fun journey into the next phase of her fabulous life. I would enjoy reading something like that in a magazine. and your problem would be ?????? I'm glad you find my "story" of interest - we'll just ignore the heartbreak and pain shall we ? White Flower
and your problem would be ?????? I'm glad you find my "story" of interest - we'll just ignore the heartbreak and pain shall we ? No, I think GPfan was truly interested. Once you're healed it would make an awesome story:)

Unfortunately it didn't come across that way to me
OWoman
I'm not sure if I regret it or not strangely enough. I DO regret wasting a year of my life being devestated by losing him from my life. Was that a "waste", or was that an investment of a different kind, do you think, LF? Seems to me that some of your strength might owe itself very directly to that "waste".... or am I misreading? I meant what I wrote sincerely. It would be a very interesting short story. No, I think GPfan was truly interested. Once you're healed it would make an awesome story:)Yep, thank you WF. (I know LS posters are more inclined to diss than compliment, so when it does happen, we're pretty bad at recognising it...)

You're probably right OW, sorry if I jumped on you for your comments GPFan. Not sure it made me stronger, I think I had to be pretty strong to cope with it all anyway. Ironically enough, one of the things he said to me was "you have to be strong" - I replied "perhaps if YOU had been stronger, this wouldn't be happening". So, I've bid my goodbyes - now all I have to do is manage to stop loving him LF sighs deeply

It's a pity he wasn't man enough to warrant it, in the end, but that's his loss and not yours.

No, I think it's OUR loss..... even now his words were that he HAD to promise not to talk to me, which means he is still not doing what HE wants to do, but rather what he thinks he has to do. No one can force a promise out of another. Even at gunpoint. He's submitting. But that's still a choice.

But that's still a choice. yup yup it is, but then why should that surprise me, considering. Either he will stay with this M, sublimating his wants and needs or he will eventually finally manage to truly break free. Either way, I can no longer help him with that decision OR just sit here waiting

OWoman
Well, you CAN, but a promise made under duress is never worth much exactly - it's NOT a promise. A promise is made freely, or not at all.
