What does my FWB want?

Let me say that I don't know exactly what we are. I met this guy 12 years ago when we worked together for a few years. At one point he was my boss and we would occassionally make out at work. I was only 18 and 19 at the time. He moved away, but I would see him every few years when I was out with my boyfriend.

 

We bumped into each other three years ago and were both single. We ended up going home together that night and went our separate ways in the morning. Our chemistry is great, but I don't think that either of us wanted complications at that point and we didn't even exchange phone numbers.

 

Fast forward three years and we bumped into each other again. We exchanged numbers and talked for a few days before I went to his house to hang out and catch up. We ended up having sex and have done so a few more times since then.

 

I just assumed he wanted a FWB type of sitation. We've never discussed what we're doing and/or want. Last weekend while were fooling around he asked me if I was HIS baby. I said yes thinking that that's what every guy wants to hear and then he continued on asking me if I meant if or if I was just saying it. The next thing out of his mouth was that he wanted to make love to me. WTF?

 

I was trying to be cool about all of this, but I'm naturally over analytical and this is killing me. I've had a thing for him since I met him and feel like I already know my answer. I don't want to be "that girl" that has to talk about "where we're going with this", but I feel like it's either that or cut this off now. Should I even broach the topic with him?

I think you did to just come out and ask him. Take it from a girl who just had an FWB go badly. (I fell in love, and he didn't.) Clarification is important when your heart is on the line.

I don't see the problem. I'd rather be "the woman" to ask "where this is going" than "the woman who has no clue what the hell is going on with someone she is having sex with."
