Porn addiction recovery- no sex drive anymore?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

like many other users here I had problems with consuming too much porn.

I watched it up to 2-3 hours a day in the end, and I ended up needing harder and harder stuff. I have used it for four years, in the last year excessively.

So I stopped completely a week ago (I have reduced it for four months, but I couldn't stop completely..). I have stopped smoking a while ago and I can tell you it was/is nearly as difficult for me to avoid using porn as it was quit smoking.

Well, since last week I feel like I don't have any sexdrive anymore. I'm just not getting turned on, wether I see a hot women, nor if I think about the things that used to turn me on.

I would be interested if anyone has made the same experiences after he/she stopped using porn?

What were your experiences?

Thanks a lot!

Hours is way too much man. I only use porn masturbate then I'm done. There's really no reason to view it as a regular movie. Horrible actors.;) Just use it to "get off" then you will have no desire to view it after.:)

Hey slatko, what you just need to do is take your time in reducing the amount of porn that you take in and start eating foods that help bring back the libido into your system. I'm no expert on this so forgive me in saying that you'll need to do your own research or Google all the specifics. And in no time, you'll start feeling "normal" again as far as sex drive goes. :)

Your body, being stimulated a certain way visually (porn) is what your focus is/was to turn you on. You've quit doing porn so give yourself time to adjust. Try to not even think about if you are or aren't being turned on. Enjoy other things in life for a while, then hopefully in afew weeks or a month your body and mind will react, you'll get turned on naturally.

Yeah, I agree with whichwayisup.

I've known pot smokers who say they can't enjoy anything after quiting. Eventually they learn to live without it.

You brain is used to getting bombarded with one sexually explicit image after another for a few hours a day, apparently, so it's definitely going to take some time for you to re-adjust.
