guy4576
I have been with my girlfriend for about 8 months now. One thing I noticed when I first got together with her was that she's got tons of chap stick and is constantly putting it on. She says her lips gets chapped very easy if she doesn't keep it on. After a month or 2 with her i started noticing my lips getting chapped alot. They get chapped so very easily and now im having to keep it on constantly. They have gotten so chapped that they crack and are always really dry. A few times i have even got little sores on them, which seem to heal fast when chap stick is applied. I never had a bad problem with chapped lips before meeting her. Im just wondering if anyone has ever heard of anything like this or would have any ideas what it could be? Could she of gave me something? I think if she does have something, she honestly doesn't know shes got it or doesn't realize it.
tanbark813
I've never heard of anything like that but you should probably go to the doctor. It might be some kind of fungus or something. Just a guess as I am in no way qualified to make an accurate diagnosis.
KittenMoon
I remember reading somewhere that if you use chapstick too much your lips get accustomed to it and basically get "addicted" to it. Maybe you should try cutting back on it and see if that helps. Drink lots of water too to stay hydrated, and maybe use a little natural oil (olive, almond, etc) once or twice a day to help keep them moist.
Trialbyfire
I think you're sharing her lip addiction...A LOT!

Chapstick ... makes you addicted to chapstick. Using a more natural source of hydration (olive or almond oil) will help rebalance things.
a4a
Chapstick is addictive..... stop using it now... you need to do a intervention with the gf ....... let her family in on it... addictive use of lip balm can and will lead to heavier use or other OTC pharmacutical type products. Have you noticed any mouth wash, hydrocortisone creams, hand lotions, or other types of items being overused by her?? Is she a rinse wash and repeater? ----- seriously the stuff is addictive and your lips get used to it and you must reapply or the lip will dry. What a awesome product..... SWEET marketing.... more addictive than cigarettes. My H had this issue so I know all about it. serious. google it
