"Romance" utopias

Well, I hate romance movies for the most part, and have for a long time, but I do have my exceptions. There are those romance utopias where the guy gets the girl in the end and doesn't have to settle and lives happily ever after (well, I didn't mention vice versa... because I'm a GUY, ok!?) and I call them "romance" utopias. They kind of help my lack of a love life and make me feel slightly happier, no matter how unrealistic and brainlessly optimistic they are.

Examples?

Some of my favorites that fit in this category are:

Hitch

Punch-Drunk Love

Half Baked

The Nutty Professor (first one, second one was crap)

Wayne's World

Superbad

does anybody have any suggestions for me to check out?

I just saw Harold and Kumar go to White Castle. Hilarious and fits the bill.

The Notebook. Kinda harsh because it deals with Alzheimers, so it's not a happy ever after tale, but it's beauty is that the principles deal with the situation with a certain sense of grace that elevates their love.

other faves are "Fools Rush In" with Salma Hayak (ooh mamacita, I'd like to be her for a day!), The Mirror Has Two Faces, The Princess Bride ...

IF you're looking for a decent romantic comedy, the classic "When Harry Met Sally" is a good one. Billy Crystal is such a whip.

I like the non-American ones. Amelie and A Very Long Engagement (Audrey Tatou... cutest girl EVER!) were both great. Amelie was a bit more fun.

Another one that is actually a romantic thriller is He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not. It's also an Audrey Tatou flick... but it's definitely not what you'd expect from a romance movie. (It's refreshing, if not uplifting.)
