NoIDidn't
Well no one is asking for you to "enter your lifes story" but when a person who just had a baby claims "all my kids are growin up, but I remember when they were babies...." it does raise special attention. Let's hope you don't forget that baby at the mall, "Mommy Brain" and all... I know I might get an infraction for this, but this post is a special kind of nasty. I *hope* you are being sarcastic. Tomcat33
I know I might get an infraction for this, but this post is a special kind of nasty. I *hope* you are being sarcastic. Well I found it really odd that you would completely forget that you just had a baby, that's all. You would think it would be on the forefront of your mind, considering how much of a woman's time a baby consumes.

Well, I guess you will just have to have your own children one day to know what I am talking about.
Tomcat33
Well' date=' I guess you will just have to have your own children one day to know what I am talking about.[/quote'] And when I do I can say without a shadow of a doubt I will never say "My kids are growing up now and no longer babies, but I still remember the talks...." while I had a 3 month old in my home. Would never happen. Nor have I EVER heard of any woman forgetting they had a 3 month old. But I guess you have proven it DOES happen, which is why I said I hope you don't forget you have a baby at the mall and leave him behind one day. And that's not being nasty it is just hoping your aren't this forgetful all the time, for the baby's sake.

I went back and read the post that you were referring to, and realized if I had changed one word or worded things differently - we wouldn't be having this conversation. I could have said "my babies are no longer in my belly" or "and no longer fetuses", but its too late now. I was just trying to encourage grumpy with the joy in what she feels is an otherwise joyless situation. And yeah, I do get forgetful a lot these days. I frequently worry that one day I might forget my baby or other kids. So I am hypervigillant (sp?) when I am out with them. And it also helps that the older kids always make sure that they are all present and accounted for (including their pride and joy, the three month old).
OWoman
Let's hope you don't forget that baby at the mall, "Mommy Brain" and all... My mother used to threaten to do that to us all the time...
porter218
My mother used to threaten to do that to us all the time... My mom did that at a grocery store with my little brother once. Don't underestimate what having that many kids can do to a mom(my brother is #4 out of 5). They say every kid reduces it's mothers IQ by 17 points.
Tomcat33
My mother used to threaten to do that to us all the time... Our mother would flat out tell us we they found us at the mall, that we were stading there in our undies and all dirty and no one wanted us. If it weren't for the fact that we are all the spitting image of each other in our family we might have actually believed her
