I said yes, and I called before I left but he all of a sudden seemed to change his mind about the visit. He told me the "timing was off" because nothing was happening in town that weekend and that his father wanted to do something yada yada yada. I assumed he was blowing me off, and when he sensed my cynisim over his excuse I told him that "I can like you a lot but if you don't want to see me it really doesn't matter" to which he replied he DID want to see me and that he would talk to me later? to which I said "yeah, we'll see" (as in we'll see if you actually ever call again) (can you tell I'm cynical over the whole dating thing?) and he was audiably perturbed by this. The conversation ended and I'm left wondering at his sincerity, and whether I should have been nicer or whatnot. Was I right about the blowoff? If he had wanted to do something with his dad and he told you this it doesn't mean he's blowing you off; just trying to find a more suitable time. However if you get so quickly perturbed by things like this continuously he isn't going to want to be around you eventually. However if he's constantly making excuses instead of wanting to get together then that's a red flag. Link to post Share on other sites
