I'm really surprised you don't own a porn company yourself. Bet you could make lots of money off of some T&A. :D

That's not a bad idea.

The next time you have her over you should have one of her porn videos on in the background.

:D

Why? The purpose would be?

Nah, not sure why someone would purposly want to f*ck with someone else's emotions after coming out of something they are trying to get over and leave behind.

That's just sickly f*cked up.

It was a joke. I'm not seriously advocating that PB do that.

Lighten up.

You should take your halo off and put up your profile pic as your avvie. You look like you're ready to do business.

Oh yeah, I know you were joking. Me too.:D

She told me of how alot of those women in the porn industry do not like what it is they do.

It's really not that hard to believe. Even men have enough common sense to know that the majority of women who do porn, do so because of deep seeded issues. That is why most men would never want someone they truly care about in one. They understand women enough to know that having sex with an indiscriminate amount of men where you are just tossed aside for the next woman, is not what most healthy women want.

I am sure there are women that truly enjoy it. But I think you would be hell bent on finding that to be the majority in the porn world or even in the non-porn world. Women don't feel confident about themselves when they let x amount of guys do them. That just isn't reality.

So the fact that we perpuate this "fantasy" that all women love what's happening to them in the porn, or healthy stable adult and despite it being their choice, are being used by society in general, is rather mind boggling. We'd rather satisfy our masturbation habits, then generally consider what that sort of entertainment truly facilitates.

How many of them want out of the porn industry and some just don't know how to get out for whatever reason.

I am sure that women stay in it for the same reasons normal people stay in any job too long. Responsiblity to pay bills, just getting stuck....whatever.

I also wish girls like her would stop going into porn. Then we could have it so only women who actually *enjoyed* performing would be in the industry.

And how many women do you actually think sincerely enjoy being banged by x amount of different men, for a male audience where her pleasure really isn't even a consideration?

I think you can tell alot by an industry by the people it attracts. If porn attracted healthy women who actually enjoyed performing, there would already be a majority of women in the industry like that. But that doesn't seem the case.

I agree with this, and you know what gets me? SOME people who like to watch porn have smarta$$ comments for those who do not like to watch it, and say things like they are prudes or need to chill out and that they have insecurity issues, BUT yet alot of the people in Porn have insecurity issues as well and think being in porn will fix it. Its almost like, "Yay for those in porn, they don't have issues, but the ones who don't care to watch it, do?"

You'd be surprised. Women's sexual fantasies aren't always PC you know. It's not for you though, clearly.

Your girlfriend should have the Mini Me sex tape on in the background whenever you come over....you know, just to **** with you. :p

That would be hot. It would make my dick look HUGE in comparison. :D

She told me she has nightmares from time to time about certain things that went on in that industry. So it will for sure take some time to recover from things. She is a strong person with a good heart. She just got mixed up in the wrong thing. I'm glad too, she has a good strong support system with family/friends as well. So many people do not have that.

You can see why the leap from waitressing to porn acting might not seem the big deal it once was. When I was in my teens, porn actresses and porn models were about as far away from stylish as it was possible to get. Candy floss hair and bad make up. Now it seems to be selected as a career choice by some genuinely beautiful women. Add into the mix the associations between porn and freedom fighting, and you can see why porn has attained a cool status in mainstream culture that it didn't have twenty years ago.

Does that mean that the reality of being a porn actress is any better than it ever was? I bet it doesn't for the majority of them. In fact, it's probably worse insofar as expectations of actresses seem to be becoming more and more extreme. But because the porn industry has acquired hip status, a large part of society probably has less sympathy than it might once have done for any actresses who feel traumatised by their dealings with it.

Anyway, It's great that your friend has got out of something that was making her so unhappy, and has supportive family and close friends to help her move on.

People are such predators. In knowing that there are people being traumatized, they're still going to support the industry.

I guess it's the same thing as disagreeing with the cut-throat business practices of Walmart but still shopping there since it saves them money, regardless of how many third-world countries are being victimized.

"If there's something in it for me, I'm not going to worry about anyone else".

Yeah, well put.

You already know my opinions on this ;) and being that we're relatively the same age I know what you mean about the change in attitudes in my own lifetime. Porn wasn't totally taboo, but it was considered seedy and peripheral. The Mafia controlled porn back in the day, now its major corporations who deal with communication technology and information distribution. Your average middle class couple probably has stock holding invested in the porn industry unbeknown to them and their 18 year old daughter thinks its a mainstream legitimate option to make fast cash and have fun

It's sad. Really, really sad

Yep because those who support the industry no matter what goes on off camera and how bad it can be, what matters to them is that there are holes to be viewed and banged, and thats all they care about.

Gawd I have no patience with 'martyrs' like her... sorry but I think that no one forces her to start in that business...

If they stay it's because they WANT to stay...

I don't believe that MOST are dying inside.. I've seen interviews of porn stars.. and they ARE very happy with their lives.. they are millionnaires now.. and they did it because they enjoyed the money and the stardom... sorry but that's more the reality of porn 'stars'...

I'm not talking about 'low class' cheap... porn flicks.. these are NOT porn stars.. those are caught up in drugs and violent dumb azz bfs...

If they don't like what they do.. then they DON'T HAVE to do it.. it's like any other jobs.. if you don't like your job.. quit and find one that you'll like.. it's not because it's porn that it's any different.

I have hot flashes when people say that ALL prostitutes are skanks and full of STDs and drug addicts, and they hate what they do... etc...etc.. sooo NOT true.. :D

First off, who is a martyr?

So you're saying those in cheap porn flicks are the ones caught up in drugs, and have violent b/fs? You don't think "high class" porn stars are or have been caught up in drugs? Or had their a$$e$ beat?

You've seen interviews with porn stars who are happy? Wonderful! I have seen interviews where they say they were not happy. So it can go either way. I do think some love what they do, and stated that before. I also think some do not. And yes those who don't end up liking it, should get out. :)

People who whine and claim victimhood about choices they made as an adult without a gun to their head?

Well, I don't see my friend as a martyr. She got out of something she thought she once wanted. She shared her story with me and her family about the things that went on while she was caught up in that lifestyle.

If thats the case all the people here on LS, who have been involved in drugs and alcohol, been raped before etc etc and been in bad situations that came here to tell their story and share with others of their choices and struggles should be martyrs to then. So make sure all are addressed as martyrs. Not fair for some and not others. :)

Plus, I never once said she whined about it. Others did. And it wasn't whinning, it was sharing a story. Not once did I say she said "woe is me."

Your friend is someone who's strong enough to walk away and work on potential addictions. She's put her words to actions. She's no victim.

I never said she whinned about it. I shared the fact my friend shared with me about the life she was once in. And you came here on my thread in what I thought was a good thing for my friend, and a good thing that I shared about her getting out of, and you pissed all over it.

But you know what, I shouldn't have expected anything any less from you.
