Why does a guy do this?

Recommended Posts

I'm just curious...

At the hospital where I work, there is lots of construction going on - hence, a few good-looking construction guys walking up & down the halls...one I've always thought is cute in particular. Over the last few months, co-workers have encouraged me to say hi, but I've mostly been too shy to do any of that; anyway as time went along, I was finally making eye contact if he passed me, and shooting him a small smile. Finally one day, I managed to open my mouth, smile big and say Hi! He returned the gesture. I was hoping to make it more of a regular exchange, but since then, he looks straight ahead if he walks past me and I haven't been able to make more eye contact.

It could be he's married (construction guys might not wear their rings); it could be that he is concentrating because he is at work; or it could be he isn't interested? I wonder what would happen if I said hi even without getting eye contact 1st...

Could be any one of those things. Why not just go ahead and say hello, but stop there... DO NOT chase this guy, LL.

I have no intentions to "chase" him, I just wondered why a guy would stop making eye contact...it took me long enough to get nerve to say hi, much less "chase" him. Especially being at work and all, it isn't likely that interaction would get far enough for that anyhow; I'm running the halls up and down as much as he, so much so that I don't see him everyday...I'm not about to stop the guy while he's working to strike up conversation..but I think he's cute. He seems pretty focused on what he's doing (as he should be) and I'm the same way with my work so I respect that. We're so busy where I am, it'd be a bad idea to stop and flirt. In other words I don't see it going beyond passing in the halls; but I like to ask about things in order to learn...

he probably likes guys..lol. his just trying to fool his mind that he likes hotties now.... lol j/k.

anyhow seriously speaking, i think his just affraid to say more than a "hi" cause his at work and your working.... but i think if he likes you he'll do more or find away to have a small conversation, small chat with you.

So if his a real man his going to find away to talk to you.

So, are you working on any "home improvement" projects? ;)

He he if I had my own home instead of living at my mother's, I'd probably be going crazy...looking forward to that after nursing school...

Well, it doesn't have to be *your* home :D

My god, this has been going on for a few months and you're just now asking for advice?? *slaps forehead*

Good luck!

I don't know- some guys are weird!

There is a guy I have had a crush on that works at the grocery store and I have had my eye on him for 10 years. I know he is attracted to me because a friend that works with him told her he thinks I am hot. But- sometimes he stops and stares, sometimes we chat a bit, and sometimes he walks by without acknowledging me. When we do chat he always gets a red face like he is nervous.

The guy could just be nervous, or he could be in a relationship. The only probloem is that if he is shy, you will have to do the chasing to get his attention- and that is something I just can't be bothered to spend energy on. I'd love to go out on a date with the cutie from my grocery store- but I know he is too shy to ask, and I won't ask him... so I have just become used to the idea that we will probably never go out!

Whoa, 10 years? I'd say he's a good dating risk simply because he's reliable. I mean, who works for 10 years at a grocery store, except for the owner or manager? Oh, you mean you've had your eye on him for 10 years, not necessarily at the grocery store...yeah... got it. Get me another beer, hon :D

I was painfully shy when younger and single, but I *know* I rarely got that kind of obvious attention from a woman, except the married ones ;)

I have worked there for 6 months. But I think I noticed him about 4 months ago (something like that)...and he's just a guy I pass in the hall, I haven't thought much more of him until now...besides, it isn't exactly "advice" I'm asking for, as much as I'm just asking for persepective, in this case anyhow.
