carrotgirl
It makes me smile. The timing of this choice has a very good feel. The decision to give space was absolutely the right thing and I'll keep on as intended. GD (or GD-cum-KFP for the purists) needed to know how he felt about things and he needed to make a solid choice for himself without feeling he was giving in to anyone else's wants or expectations. There is no question now for either of us. We're actively choosing each other. Hearing the words out loud. Having our actions match the words is indescribably good. No decisions by default. No we just fell back into it. No we'll hang when it's comfortable and flee when it's not. No passivity and no games and no guessing. We love each other. We choose each other. A whole lot. kizik
..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................and now they're broken up. Simon Leon
Have the issues that caused the breakup been addressed....discussed. If it were me...I would try to create a safe environment where issues can be brought to light , addressed and resolved in a kind and respectful manner.
Touche
Why is everyone so skeptical? What? You all don't believe in second chances? Ok, I'll stop being sarcastic. I'm happy for you, Carrot. But you know how I feel by now. From my experience, you're in a "honeymoon" phase now. It can get addictive. But usually you end up right where you left off before the honeymoon phase started. Usually within a few months and sometimes even longer. I sincerely hope that you prove to be the exception to this. I really do.
kizik
How many times can you give it a go with the same person? I say two or three. Anything more than that is co-dependence and insanity!
Touche
How many times can you give it a go with the same person? I say two or three. Anything more than that is co-dependence and insanity! I agree. It took me sooooo long to learn that hard lesson.
Trialbyfire
I agree. It took me sooooo long to learn that hard lesson. A consistently bright lightbulb deserves a lightbulb of equal and consistent intensity! A lesson we've all learned the hard way!
Chinook
I been away a while. I was happy to see Carrot's post. I know, cynical here too, but I really do hope it works out for you. The pain we all experience somehow makes love brighter, warmer and more fulfilling and I really hope that's the case for you too. Good luck and happy 4th to you both

melodymatters
Don't have much to add, but when three of my fave posters are on one short thread, i feel compelled to say SOMETHING. something:D No really, good luck to you carrot, my new 'personal stylist" and happy independence day TBF & Touche. ( not to TJ, but i had my first 'ex girlfriend stalking experience wed ! YIKES !)

Author carrotgirl
LOL. In order.... kizik, I plan on enjoying this indefinitely. BTW, it was a row, and consequent making up that sealed it for us both. Simon, we're safe and the conversation is ongoing as needed. See above. Thanks. Touche, the sarcasm is of far less consequence than your presence, though it made for a smile. Thanks. I'd like us to be an exception to that experience too. We'll have to see won't we? kizik, your answer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vq5csKvXCT4&feature=related. Touche, sorry to hear that. Tri, that's funny! GD said much the same thing to me (same meaning, different words) as his way of "convincing" me or was it him? He was just talking and saying stuff, because how else can you talk? Chinook, thank you! It's really great to know you're not rooting for my relationship to fail! Today has some significance for us. We always have fireworks for Independence Day no matter where in the world we are. Today we have extra! Touche, I'm ready for more EZ. Tri, WOW! mel-O-dy, awww. No one says something like youuu dooo. No TJ. Poor stalking donkey. Just get a restraining order or "something". Tri, I think we're due for those cocktails. Any chance to say cock....tails. Touche, Carrot came back from the pub. Carrot has a beer in her which makes for a shloshy, babbly Carrot! Author carrotgirl
Do you really want to get rid of that monkey on your back? I think it's kind of cute. Oh, it took me a sec to realize this was your sig.... I thought for sure there had been a convo somewhere.... LOL. GD calls me Monkey. And I must say, I usually hate that sort of thing but when he does, it's very cute!

Here lie on my couch right here. Make yourself comfortable. :lmao:
Author carrotgirl
Awww, thanks for the kind words Likewise. They mean a great deal to me. GD (it's just so much easier to keep straight)-cum-KFP (Kung Fu Panda) is currently in bed and out like a drag queen at a pride parade. Poor thing. He's tired. Make yourself comfortable. :lmao: I KNOW! It's SO unlike me. I can't stand nicknames. The monkey bit just cracks me up because it's true. There was a scene on some TV show where David Cross yells, "I want to climb a tree! (and then he whispers) That's a metaphor. You're the tree." That's about the speed of me on GD. I don't think Touche's couch is big enough for all of us that might need it from time to time, and what are we all doing home on the computer today anyway ???? No bbq's ??? We'll just have to chip in and get Touche a sleepy sofa! Yah. The plans changed. Hey, at least I bathed! GD and I had a BBQ-esque meal of onion rings and beer at the local off hours.... The meal was moist, practically the same as a paddle. And now I'm home and he's home and I'm drunk as a skunk on a beer. I have got to gain more weight. Which reminds me, Touche? How is that going for you? See Mel? TJing me own T. Carrot
Author carrotgirl
Oh ok on the KFP. So confusing! OMG, the bolded part was hilarious. Haven't heard that one! Very funny. And thus GD remains ever and forever GD. He would think it's funny. And it IS funny! We'll just remember the KFP part quietly when he's being all Kung Fu-ey. I do adore his fat panda bod! Yah, that out bit was pure Carrot. Those of us lacking inches must hone other charismatic skills. Or be monkeys. Carrot
