Any chance my boss will not feel betrayed if I leave?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

after a couple of troublesome months at my current job I don't get really happy with it anymore. I'm just getting pissed off very easily and I don't get along with my new boss. What happened is that my new boss coöwned the business with my former boss (they were responsible each for another part of the business), but as my former boss left, she took over both areas, that was 3 months ago.

Anyway, looking for new staff to run shifts &c. I had a lot of stress and felt as if I had lost my opportunities, as I was being trained up a good deal before. So a month ago I told my boss, who already acknowledged I had 'more potential', that I was unsatisfied and want to climb the ladder for the next higher position. She told me that she can't do that directly now but will put me in more and more so I would come there soon.. Nothing really changed since then and normally I should have been promoted months ago.

Now my former boss works for one of my then coworkers who quit two months ago and who happens to be one of the best teachers I can imagine. Now he offered me a higher position with better pay and would train me. Also I wanted to leave where I work now in the middle of August anyway.

So, how do I tell my boss now that I leave? I quite like the place and I do not want to burn down bridges really, but I feel so stuck and passed over and undervalued that I really am not happy working there anymore. Also the girl I posted about here some time ago works there and we always get mad with each other for little things, which is pretty annoying. So, I want to leave, but am afraid she's gonna find out that I work with them then.. any suggestions how I can tell her? Or does this happen to be a real dilemma?
