fral945
In general? And if so, why do you think that is?
quankanne
I don't think one is more than the other, it's just that men communicate differently than women, so it seems women are the "keepers of the faith" in a family or in society at large.
Enema
Didn't females only recently start becoming accepted into higher levels of the clergy? Surely this was because of modern political pressure to be less sexist. Those highest in the clergy have a direct line to god so obviously keeping women out of the clergy for so long is/was gods will. God knows women aren't as religious as men, so he told his highest ranking followers to keep the women in their place.

I get so bored listening to preachers sometimes... just being honest! My Sunday School teachers are a husband and wife team, where the husband, Doug, leads and his wife Nancy helps. I learn a lot and have an awesome time! To me that's how it's supposed to be... they complement each other and together make a wonderful team. They're not perfect and they don't try to be, but they are genuine people who love God and who love others. Both men and women are spiritual, though yeah sometimes it seems more women are spiritual because I think it is easy for men to get caught up in other things. For many Christians, we believe in having a relationship with God and some men have relationship issues But the important thing though is that God loves both men and women and He understands and wants each person, regardless of their gender, to get to know Him. Peace

Lovelybird
That depends on the particular denomination. The one I belong to have always had women in the forefront and pulpit. when I watch churchchannel, there are two different stylies people preaching. "screaming' and 'calm talk', although they all are anointed, I like the 'calm talk' style more, especially if the preacher is a woman
Tony T
When you ask if someone is religious, you cannot speak of a particular church or belief. Religion has to do with spirituality, spirituality with life, life with its purpose, its purpose with various interpretations and belief in a system, a supreme being or nothing at all but circumstance and physical accident. Both men and women are equally religious. They both have the seed of wonderment, curiosity about the world and its origin...and its ultimate end. Religion has no relationship to the sex of a person whatsoever. Both men and women speculate equally on how we got here, where we are going. Many have a firm belief because it is written somewhere. Whatever works for them. In the long run, it really doesn't matter. If there is a supreme being, its mind cannot be changed on the basis of what humans decide is truth or not. Fools did not dream all this up.
Dark-N-Romantic
I think more women are spiritual minded vice religious than most men. That is because most women are internal/emotional creatures. They tend to have keener senses of a supernatural nature. Men on the other hand are more external/physical creatures, and thus we can see, taste, feel, hear, and smell God's presence. We can physically see the marvel of things and give it real shape and form. DNR
Author fral945
Thanks for the responses. I wanted to hear some different opinions. I disagree with those that say men and women are equally religious. These are generalizations, obviously, but my personal belief is there are significantly more religious women than there are religious men. I think women place a higher value on comfort and security, and believing in a higher power watching over you and having some control provides that security and comfort. From my own personal experience, the women I do know are almost unanimously religious (or if not religious, at least claim to be spiritual or believe in a higher power watching over them). I can't say the same with the men I know, it is more of a mixed bag. I brought this topic us because I'm an agnostic, and one constant frustration I have is that inevitably (or at least most relationships I've been in) the topics of beliefs come up in a conversation and is a major issue with every single woman I've dated. Some have told me it didn't matter at first, but later, as the relationship progressed, started questioning me more and more. Not all of them said so, but strongly implied through their innuendo and actions that my lack of religiosity was a deal breaker. I feel that there are women that would take me in a second if I told them I did believe in a higher power. It's very tempting to lie because some of these women have had great potential, and I think they saw great potential in me as well. Has anyone else here experienced this kind of frustration? And if so, what did you do about it?
Mahatma
I am 18, just got done with 4 years of high school, so this is the younger people's info: 75% guys non religious 25% religious 75 % girls religious 25% don't care (these are usually the sluts) FWI- I am not knocking girls who aren't religious, I am not religious either. I like people who think for themselves. This also depends on what type of community you are living in.

This inclues feminists. Leaders should serve God, not the feminist cause.

I am a very independent self-sufficient person.Interesting....I suppose you've never been sick and needed medication? How'd you get along the first decade of your life? How about someone to just talk to? That aside, (because it could be excused by admitting you needed help at that time in your life).....are you self-employed? Did you pay cash for your vehicle? House? Do you commute? Do you use electricity? Ever been rescued? I think to say that you've never needed help is an the understatement of the year.... I do think that women come off more spiritual than men, but no one knows for sure but God Himself....

I do think that women come off more spiritual than men, but no one knows for sure but God Himself.... I meant in terms of spiritualness, I never needed help from a "higher power", since I am an atheist. I don't depend on mystical powers to give me strength in life, I depend on myself. I am also independent as in always paying for myself (If I were to go on a date for example), I don't expect a man to give me ANYTHING, I fend for myself in life. That's what I mean. I don't take a penny from anyone. And as a matter of fact I am self-employed, and I also did pay for my vehicle in cash. Electricity? Of course I use it but I pay for it. I also pay taxes and if I were to be rescued I would assumed it would be by police/fire personnel etc. My taxes make up for the services I use such as roads, etc. Personally, I am not spiritual at all and I hope no one assumes that I would be just because I am a woman. The source of my stats is me. My opinion was asked, so I gave mine. I am not saying religious girls do not have sex, they are just more quiet about it. Having sex in high school does not mean you are a slut.
