flax1212 Posted August 4, 2003 Share Posted August 4, 2003 Ive been dating my ex-girlfriend for 4.5 years now and we just broke up. We meet at 18 and now where 22. We where each others first serious boyfriend and girlfriend. The last year of the relationship we started to do some fighting but nothing real serious. This passed May she told me she wanted to take a break to find herself and see what she wants in life. it was hard at first for me to let her go i would call all the time and she told me she wanted to be left alone. lately we have started to talk and hang back out but she only want to be friends.. I asked her what she wants and she tells me not a boyfriend right now. but she keeps bringing up that we might get back in like 6months or so. i love her to death what should i do. and her b-day is coming up on the 22 of Aug she i do anything for that. please help Paul Link to post Share on other sites

She dangles the carrot of getting back together in six months in front of you in order to keep you in reserve...to keep you from seeing other people...to make sure you are available to her in case all else fails. Don't fall for that crap. You don't need to be anybody's reserve. People don't take a break from a relationship to "find themselves and see what they want in life." More than the game thing of making her sweat, I read a book about this sort of thing (having screwed it up in my real life!) which said that, when people successfully get back together, their one regret is that they didn't spend more time apart- not to play a power game, like you're somewhat kidding question (as I took it), but, honestly, if you really want to have a great relationship, to make certain that, if she wanted to "find herself", or whatever, she really has! My mistake was, during a brief two week break-up, a year ago, my girlfriend and I were leading much better social lives with our friends, and once we got back together, this stopped (or slowed down a lot). If we had really worked on our outside social lives and interests, by staying completely apart a bit longer,rather than spending too much time and energy on each other when we too-soon got back together, we probably would have had more balanced social lives, and I think might well still be together now! This time, we've been apart for five weeks, and it will probably be months before there's even a slight chance...:-( Link to post Share on other sites

But most of all is our marriage sometime is so serious misunderstanding another, and my wife and I was alway apart our family, and I just don't how much miss them to me. My wife miss so much and Imiss her so much. And know how we both we care another both we serious misunderstanding our relationship or reaction to sign the divorce paper I was so scared, and I said myself I don't to do this.then my shack i just don't know should or should not sign but i did, and it is so confuse have anytime to make dicssion work the problem.But to late for me and my wife,and I move out went to the settle to stay with my sister, and I got up there. Then I was thinking myself why i sign the divorce paper, and I been feeling something, and when 1 month I was praying and reading scripture everydays night and morning , evening, etc. Then after i stay my room read and read and pray for 1 month. When I got my answer I should go back to my family,and but most of all is my protect from all her family. My wife sent me a letter she want her help from me, and sent more letter she want to work it out together has husband and wife. Then I after that she told her mom trying to make us get divorce it did happen, and I try everything to stop, and i cry and cry to bag.Please. stop. My wife want to come back with me, and the family won't let her to see me or e-mail or call me, and to see my family anymore. But most of all I try everything to help her. But my wife unhappy and my baby too. Then I wish I want my family back we both in pain, and i just don't know how long go apart of my family away. And can not see my family or to see my daughter grow up. I need your help, and my wife is struggle with her family I just don't know going to happen to her, and she want to come back so much, and telling she love so much I miss you so much. And then she telling our daughter she need you very much, and I can not sleep with out you,and can not eat and struggling with the baby.Because i am not there to help out, and I wish I would to help out to be there to be has a family together. Then when come back together my wife and I and my daughter too go far away from the parent do have to worry, and marriage to be strugge we both work ourself, and relationship we grow stronger and stronger. I need your help I try everything to contact her, and to hard for me and my wife. We both been serious misunderstanding. I just don't know how to get my family back. Joseph harward P.S.
