Is Cracking your Knuckles Bad??

Is it bad? I do it all the time. I've heard it's

bad for your joints and tissues inside. But also heard

that it's no big deal.

I've noticed that i'm starting to get some light dull pain

in my knuckles (where the fingers meet the palm on top)

My Index and second finger knuckles on both hands are

a little achy lately. Not tons, but enough to noctice that

it's been a month too long. I write a lot all day and i'm contantly

typing with my first two fingers on both hands..

PLUS, i crack my knuckles alot. i'm just wondering if i'm

doing more harm than good. Maybe i need more water and

better supplements.

its only bad if you manage to injure yourself,,,like strain a ligament or something. but you can do that doing almost anything

its an old wives tale that it causes arthritis

soooo,,,its bad if you do it too hard or too often,,,but not if your a normal knuckle cracker

i do it once a day without even thinking,,,,,this is all what my doc told me,,,so now i want 80 bucks for an office visit :D

it's okay, you can do it but when you get really old you won't be able to open the cookie jar.

it makes your fingers fatter!

It makes the skin on your fingers stretch out because of pressure you are putting on them and because the bone expands. So it just looks like they are fatter because of that.

I do it all the time too, sometimes my fingers get a little sore from it but it goes away. I don't think you can do any REAL damage unless you like did it really hard and damaged a bone in your hand or something. Of course I'm not a doctor, if you are really worried about it than I would consult a professional about it.

It def. makes your fingers fatter. For some reason my right ahnd can never crack but my left does all the time. When I wear a ring on my right hand it never ends up fitting on my left. It's much fatter and I notice the difference.
