Woggle
A woman will respect a man as much as he respects himself and respect is the number one factor in a woman's attraction to a man. This world is filled with *******s and idiots and that will never change but it doesn't mean there aren't many great things in this world to be enjoyed. As long as you can look yourself in the mirror and be proud of what you see then you have succeeded in life.

quankanne
dance like no one's watching, and love with careless abandon. personal philosophy? Don't be afraid to love again after you've had your heart broken, just look at it as a learning experience and know that every love relationship you have brings you that much closer to the love you're ultimately meant to possess. Just think of that broken relationship as proof of your ability to share love with someone, not as failure of any kind ...
annieo
Don't be a chicken - "leap, and the net will appear" (not sure who said this last part, sounds like Buddha, though) And listen to those voices in your head that sound like your grandma, or someone you loved and lost. They're probably right.

NewSunrise
Live today as if it were your last. For everyday that you get live it, is a day that you have made a difference in someone else's life. Whether it was a wave, a greeting of hello, compliment, allowing someone to cut in front of you on the freeway, or a simple please and thank you when you order a bag of fries is all it takes to make that small difference in someone else's day. Everyday that you get to live is a reward.

Angel1111
How about this one: "Life goes on long after the thrill of living is gone." I feel like I'm finally getting my act together - but I wish I had gotten it together much sooner. Life shouldn't be difficult. As one of my exes used to say, "Life is simple. It's people who complicate it."
Ocean-Blue
I have learned that the idea of "do unto others as you'd have others do unto you" is a bunch of bullcrap and really doesn't work in this world (especially where male-female relationships are concerned). We are all different, have different frames of reference and have our own, unique reality. You cannot and should not you go around treating others like you want to be treated because this subsumes the idea that we are all alike, see the world through the same lens and thus have the same needs. It's better to treat people as individuals and respond to them in a way that is tailored to them (through time and experience). I'm not saying one should be fake or be untrue to who they are, but one should understand that what makes one person content doesn't mean it will please the next person. This is especially true of relationships.
