Love - I've fallen for you and aren't afraid to commit. Lol. Then my bf doesn't love me. Is commitment required for love? Just wondering.
Trialbyfire
Lol. Then my bf doesn't love me. Is commitment required for love? Just wondering. As in some form of legalized relationship or engagement? No. As in emotional commitment, yes.

Author audrey_1
I've read a lot of posts lately where people are saying they "care about" the object of their affection, not necessarily that they love them. That's why I'm wondering. The "care" seems to be more weighted. I know I would probably say I care about someone before saying I love them, perhaps because it seems more genuine (?). Author audrey_1
Lol. Then my bf doesn't love me. Is commitment required for love? Just wondering. Mine either? He told me he "cares about me" the other day. This is the first emotional revelation he's made to me in 14 months. I'm not concerned, just wondering the possible depths of this "care." I don't think commitment is required to love/care for someone, though. Maybe just emotionally, as TBF alluded to.
Trialbyfire
Ok. What is considered emotional commitment? That's a huge question, in that the response could be a book! Each person has what they consider an emotional commitment. My interpretation would include but not be exclusive of: Exclusivity of body. Emotional ports wide open. Disinterest in any third parties. Trust. Respect. Like. Chemistry of physical, emotional and intellectual.
Yamaha
I've had women tell me they care for me so much but it didn't go to the love thing. I always wondered how you can care so much but not love someone? If I told them I cared so much it would probably mean I loved them as well.

Respect. Like. Chemistry of physical, emotional and intellectual. Yes. Prior to his revealing he "cared for me," he had asked me a week before if I was seeing other people, as it wasn't yet established we were exclusive. Perhaps this is what he was trying to establish. So that would tie back to what TBF said originally, I might be falling for you, but have trust issues.
