verve
Spotted this article earlier, made me feel a little better. Facts are, Sarah Larson could have cheated on George Clooney. And it just made me think.... infidelity is something most people have probably encountered or will encounter, however rich, successful, handsome, old or whatever we are. It happens to the best of us. I don't know about you but I think there's some comfort in that. In a shocking revelation that could only come out in the news vacuum before a holiday weekend (Diggin' those Heidi Montag posts?), it appears Sarah Larson actually grew weary of The Clooney's charm and cheated on him while they were dating, according to Page Six: Larson seems to have a roving eye. Sin City sources say that while the former cocktail waitress, who's trying to kick- start a modeling career, was dating Clooney, she "came to Vegas for a weekend and cheated on him" with a media mogul. Larson and Clooney broke up earlier this summer. Sources said it was because they had little in common and because Larson insisted on getting breast implants. But, ever the gentleman, Clooney helped promote her new career before he dumped her, and she got a spread in Harper's Bazaar and a few runway gigs at LA Fashion Week.Damn! Someone cheated on The Clooney? That's like finding out a free Ferrari doesn't race out of Angelina Jolie's vagina after you have sex with her. I mean, Christ, what's a man have left to believe in in this crazy world? Source: http://thesuperficial.com/2008/08/sarah_larson_cheated_on_the_cl.php
Trialbyfire
I don't know how much to believe of these types of rags but yes, no matter who you are, you can be cheated on. There are a lot of selfish people in the world.
EnigmasMuse
That reminds me of some friends I used to have, whose husband would say, "Yes its possible my wife could cheat on me, but not probable."
Lizzie60
Clooney!!! I don't see the big hoola about this guy.. I think he's very 'ordinary' ... doesn't matter who you are .. you're most likely going to be cheated on.. or you will cheat.. it's that simple.. and the more we evoluate, the more cheating we'll see.. it's not going downward..it's going upward.. too many factors (Internet, mixed work force, etc.)
Trialbyfire
you're most likely going to be cheated on.. or you will cheat.. I disagree with this. Surprisingly, there are people who don't cheat. I do agree it's on the upswing due to the ease of cyberspace. If you're the cheating type, it's only a couple of clicks away.

If you're the cheating type, it's only a couple of clicks away. Even if you're not.. Internet makes it sooo easy, some people who probably thought they'd never cheat... has cheated because of the easiness of the Internet.. Excerpt from BBC: Most spouses who got involved with the opposite sex over the internet did not think they were doing anything wrong, said the report by a University of Florida researcher. But partners felt betrayed by the virtual infidelity, even though in most cases no physical contact had taken place. "The internet will soon become the most common form of infidelity, if it isn't already," said Beatriz Mileham, from the University of Florida, who carried out the new study. "Never before has the dating world been so handy for married men and women looking for a fling. "With cyber sex, there is no longer any need for secret trips to obscure motels. An online liaison may even take place in the same room with one's spouse." I'm sure a lot of LSers are guilty of this..

It allows people the ability to understand the damage they can cause by having EAs or online cyber sex with a third-party. Once people realize how much it can hurt their loved ones, the sane and caring people will have remorse and learn from it. The truly selfish individuals will repeat the cycle over and over again. Keep in mind that for every partner who cheats, there's someone who enables the cheating. Neither is innocent.
dazed.1
Who and what you are has nothing to do with whether or not you will be cheated on. Look at Christie Brinkley (spelling??). It has everything to do with each individual and their relationships. Being "better" never means you are less likeyly to be cheated on.

The enabler (if they're single) is perfectly innocent, don't you know? I mean after all...they didn't take vows and are an innocent party.

It can happen to anyone but won't necessarily happen to everyone.
rproctor
I mean, even former president Bill Clinton was cheating on his wife. No one is safe from infidelity, no one!

It can happen to anyone but won't necessarily happen to everyone. I do hope you know that I was being sarcastic with the above. I've made many mistakes in my life but I've never deluded myself into thinking that because I was single (in my single days) that it was ok to go out with a married man. (And yes, I had plenty of opportunities, unfortunately.) And of course who gets cheated on has nothing to do with the person getting cheated on. But it does have everything to do with the what's going on with the person doing the cheating. It's THEIR weakness. It's their fault. It's never the other persons fault, IMO. c-riouz
Clooney got what was coming for him....he's overrated anyway. I don't get the hype, but I'm sure he won't be bothered too much anyway...bet he has tons of other women who will be more than happy to "comfort" him...
